Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.

I wasn't gonna make one of these because I've technically been here before, but.

Guess I changed my mind. :P

Well, I originally found this site a while ago in my endless search for SF resources and signed up. About six or seven months ago, I posted a project, got distracted by real life (the whole college application thing, I think it was), and promptly disappeared, but now I'm back because I want to work on something creative and don't have anything else going on for once. You might've seen my project topic and a few other posts of mine over the past couple days.

About me: I'm eighteen, female, lived in Atlanta all my life. I did robotics and Latin for three years, yadda yadda, and I'm going to MIT next year to major in engineering or something, but I'm actually better at English than math, so go figure. Also, I hate cold, so we'll have to see how that works out! Let's see, what else? I read and write a lot, mainly SF with a side of dark fantasy, and I hope to be published someday. I also kind of draw a little (if it's my head, anyway), and about once a year I get off my lazy ass and make some space art in Photoshop. Lastly, I'm a die-hard grammar nazi, and I constantly edit my posts for anal-retentive little things like exchanging a word for one that sounds slightly better. So if all of my two-sentence posts have been edited fifteen times, that's why!

About RPG Maker: I have some experience with RM2k3 and a bit with XP, but I'm far from an expert. My best area is story, but I can sort of sprite a little.

About the name: Had it since I was about twelve (strung some random words together), and it stuck. I've been going by Perihelion in a few places lately, though, and I'm thinking about getting this account changed.

Edit: Also, I like NetHack. It's like crack, except you don't need to leave your bedroom to get it. :D :D

Hey! Welcome (back?) to the forums! I visited Atlanta once, I think it was about a year or two ago but man is it hot there. I visited for two weeks with a friend and for the first 4 days I did nothing but sleep.

Anyway, since you like to write I'm sure you will find a home in the writing section of the forum, and since you like to read you will also be welcome (though your welcome anyway =]) in the early project development forum - there are plenty wall-of-text's to keep you busy!

Enjoy and hopefully you stay this time

Hey! Yeah, I've been leaving the odd critique in EPD and PD, mainly for story stuff. It works out well since I'm a fair hand at that sort of thing.

Atlanta's pretty hot during the summer, but it has very nice weather the rest of the year. I like it here. It's also got a lot of trees, which is nice. Boston doesn't, unfortunately, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Also, what does NFG stand for? Maybe I missed something, but I don't see any forums that abbreviate to that.

R-robotics?  That's awesome.   I always found robotics fascinating, though I've never gone into that field myself.  Anyway, welcome!  I'm relatively new, so you probably don't know me.  You'll see me around every once and a while in the writing and early project discussion forums. :thumb:

NFG stands for Non-Forum Gaming, I believe.  It is, essentially, a spam/joke forum, which has recently been renamed The Point.

Yeah, though I did like the way things looked in Atlanta it was just hell to get around without a car (their car broke down a day or two before we arrived >.<), and the buses were/are expensive and even if you wanted to take a bus, depending where you lived, you'd have to walk like half a mile for the nearest stop (unlike boston where there is a bus stop and/or a train station around every corner haha). But Atlanta is pretty awesome though, their houses are really beautiful and it's the only place that I know that has a barber shop inside of a mall. (I went to Georgia)

Guardian: Yeah, it's a really neat field and one I may be interested in studying for real. And I have seen you around, as a matter of fact.

Also, thanks; I figured it had something to do with GD.

Fayte: Yeah, our public transportation totally blows. I've had to use it some this summer now that I have a job, and urk. The buses don't come more often than every half hour, and they're always ten or fifteen minutes late, and the trains don't go much of anywhere useful because a couple counties voted out of being in the system back in the day (why I do not understand). But it's a nice city if you don't need to use public transportation, yeah.

Venetia: You might wanna save being impressed for if I manage to not flunk out, haha. I hear some Ivies give out easy A's so their students look good, buuut...not MIT. And I am a horrible, horrible slacker, so we'll have to see how it goes.
