This is like the fourth time you've posted a topic in the wrong forum. Please take some time reading forum descriptions and rules topics.

Since you're asking for a computer program, this would be acceptable in the Computer forum, or even in the Art and Graphics forum. I'll go ahead and move it there.

stuff like FIREHEARTS on youtube use windows movie maker and draw their frames in other programs (Firehearts itself uses paint I think?).

Though they're not really very good.

When I make animated movies, I usually draw each frame individually on paint. It gets a bit tedious when your making a longer movie. Even my shorts are usually at least 300 individually drawn frames.

I used to be an animation student so I know a little about the programs used. If you plan on doing hand drawn frames then you import them into a video editing program and display each one to so many frames per second. My school used programs like "premier pro" and "final cut" for video assignments. I assume the programs are pricey. I've never tried windows movie maker even though it came with my computer, but it could be your best bet.

You could also use flash to make movies. I've only messed around in flash for a little while and never took a class on it but there are plenty of online tutorials out there.

I'm not really sure if this is what he's going for... o^o

Wow, that shit is...horrible.
The whiny, nasally voice acting really gives it that extra pizazz.

I never said it was good (in fact I said the opposite!) I just said it's ANIMATED and that's what it uses?

Uhhh.... The only ones that I've tried is ImageReady and Flash.
prepare to sacrifice hours for seconds.... O_o
Good luck with this btw,  :thumb:

PS: gather what you need,
Photoshop :thumb: /Gimp(<--- dunno never used this one) for lining/penning and coloring art.
Scanner? Camera?
An array of pencils
different types of papers
erasers, different types and shape (I recommend the test-taker type) :thumb:
References, books and sites (yea I know you can google it but favorite them or mark them)
You uncluttered glass(or maybe wood) desk, with a bottle of pepsi/coke/gatorade/water
did I miss something?

get a light table and soem animation paper and practice practice practice.

on second though that's exspensive. have you considered flash? If ur working on an RMXP project someone recently produced a script to allow Flash animations in XP...

light tables are cheap enough and they could just use tracing paper to practice to keep the cost down, or if theyre feeling crafty a light table is easy enough to make and the supplies would only run you around 5-10 bucks, some white spray paint, some thin plywood, finish nails, a piece of plexy glass for the top,(spraypaint the underside to make it opaque) a cheapy light fixture and a bulb, ok, so head math says more like 20 bucks, i picked up a cheap light box for that much..., so if you build one make it drafting table size :), then your drawing desk is a light box with a flip of the switch, im so building one

lol ok i'll buy that.

random factoid though: An animator's hole punch is 600$... why? because they're in such limited demand that they can get away with charging that much >>

You could probably get some scraggly flash animations for like $50 a piece, but if you want something nicer then it's likely to reach into hundreds or thousands, depending on the quality and how much you want.
I did a little research and a lot of "freelance animators" seem to charge hourly and are likely on the more affordable end; $50-$100 per hour seems the most common rate, keeping in mind that I've also read that with animation "you must expect to give hours for seconds", so you'll be dishing out quite a bit. But like I said earlier, for more amature work you could get much cheaper but expect to get what you pay for (Firehearts, lol)

Basically, this is a pretty unrealistic goal unless you have A LOT of cash to throw around. Your best bet would be to either settle with a very mediocre flash artist or get somebody to draw the frames (or you could, I don't know if you're an artist) and slap them together in Windows Movie Maker yourself.

Animation is a long and painful process, people aren't going to do it just for pocket change!

EDIT: I'm sort of talking out of my arse here but I'm probably correct about it not being very affordable for a teenager (of which I assume you are one; you come across that way, apologies if I'm wrong), though it might be worth doing some research of your own, too!

dude, uh i'd say draw your frames by hand, scan em, color em in photoshop, save in png format, and import em into flash.

Firehearts sucks so much balls. But hey, at least they did it.

and sharksweetheart is right. animation isn't cheap. especially good animation. that's why it'd be best to do it yourself.
