I Lost Her: The Beginning

Hello and thanks for reading ;)
I am creating a project called Looking Above ^^
And it is going to be a big big project.
It isn't gonna be one game, its gonne be more!
I am going to create a massive massive story, so no one gets bored!
I am going to make so many features and many things to do in this game!
This is going to be one of the biggest RPGXP Project's there is!
Many battles many quests!
And a storyline everyone will enjoy!

Here is a little idea of what there is going to be:

Features:
200+ Quests (NEED TO DO!)
500+ Side Quests (Your choice!)
Excellent Story Line
Mr. Mo's ABS System
Dubalex's AMS System!
Fishing
Crafting
Cooking
Mounting (Deciding what can be mounted still...)
Map System
Woodcutting
Mining
House Owning.
Marriage System ;)
And much much more to be decided on!

Release date (Estimate January - March Time?)

Story Line:
A Girl looses her friend, when her Town got raided by a Dark Magician known as Trigus, He kidnaps her and you decide to go and search for her, none of yours friends join you... Only you go!
You are following her trail searching for your friend... You have no idea where to go but to follow your heart.
In this world.

Just a word of friendly advice. When taking screenshots, make the game window fullscreen (alt+tab) and hit the print screen key on your keyboard. Then paste the image into your paint program and save it that way. Easier to see. :) Also try to put a little more detail on your story. Other than that i'm curious to see your marriage system. Is it going to be like Phantasy Star 3's marriage system?

Nope kinda like Fable Marriage system, you buy them Gifts and the more they love you then you can propose... Im still trying to make it, its pretty hard but I kinda got it working, still a bit buggy but i'm still trying to do it.

I suggest to work on your mapping, the roads are too narrow, the world is way too empty.
Maybe reduce the features and the quest numbers, you will get bored of making it way before you even finish.
 
Oh dear. This really isn't enough for a project thread. You need a longer storyline, characters and generaly more info on your game. Those screenshots also really are not good at all. Your storyline is also bad.

Basically, what you have done is written a quick story, then opened MrMo's ABS demo, took some screenshots of it, then made this thread. Please, even the character in MrMo's ABS is the main character in your game!

Read some mapping tutorials, improve your topic with more information, improve your story, and you might be getting somewhere.
 
200 quests? 500 sidequests? And you plan to get done by March? Have you even begn to consider how many hundreds of hours that would take? You wouldn't get done by March, or even the March after that. You should really make a more realistic list of features if you want to even consider completing this.

The 200 mandatory quests made me stop reading, to have to do 200 quests would be pointless to me, it'd get boring unless they were all refreshing and different and just having a storyline told in 200 quests, like fetch 10 ghost skins to hear the next part of it, would make me delete it immediately.

I love it when some random guy comes along thinking his game is the gonna be the best RMXP game there ever is!  Then you look at the screenshots and they're horrible.


700 total quests?  I tried making a game like this and worked 2 months and only had 20 quests.  Unless your game's quests are gonna be "walk over to the house across the street!" then you might as well cut the amount of quests you have planned by to maybe like 50?
 
The "Dark One".

I'm not negative like the rest of the ...scene people here. So I'll tell you this point blank. It's mind numbingly cliche to the point of being a joke game. The battle system doesn't make the game especially a rpg. Its not a literal custom battle system if everyone and their mother is using it. . and finally, no man.. just no.

You're getting ahead of yourself too much. Treat this game as a game that you learn from while making. Be sure that you take no of everything and study mapping.. I'm not saying copy other peoples maps because thats unoriginal but just take note and apply your own style to it.

If you add cards it'll be Yugioh Abridged.

Try to put a little more effort into your storylines.. this can make or break a game. As is.. this game is a bit corny. Now as far as I can tell -none- of the rpg makers here are professional masters of RMXP, myself included. We learn from mistakes. . we try not to make them again. Yet, if you want any kind of future for your game in general.. you would be your -biggest- critic. If you can look at those maps and storyline and say "YEAH!! This is cool and professional!" then you should go ahead. However, if you want to learn you would redo each map and spellcheck your dialogue until it's perfect. Granted, the cliche storyline -may- work.. but yeah.. not with all of the mistakes.
 
So far I have been making this project for 2 years... and those screenshots are old.
Yer... so it has taken me a long time.
I got most of the stuff done.
so far 139 Quests
and 391 Side Quests done.
And 79% of mapping done.

Please update your thread with a section on the characters. A little elaboration on the story side of things would be nice too. And maybe you could format everything so it's easier to read?
