I dropped my kitten, will she be ok?

So like 20 minutes ago I was holding one of my kittens, they're 5 week old on Tuesday, and as I was holding her towards my chest, she decided to do a run for it, climbed up my chest onto my shoulder and fell off, hitting the floor with her face, and let out a big yelp. So I picked her up, checked that she was okay, and put her down in her basket, and she went straight to sleep...

Drop was over 5ft, and it's a hardwood floor she hit.

Just wondering if anyone knows if she'll be okay from the drop, or could it have damaged her/broken anything?

Yeah I'd take her to the vets, but the problem is that both my parents are out and the closest vets is 6 miles away, lol. She seems fine at the moment though, I mean, she's just woken up and is feeding, isn't acting unusual or anything, I'll see what happens though.

Normally kittens tend to seem fragile, but infact are very strong..

If she starts acting weird tomorrow, i'd take her..
However, do inform your parents

Don't worry too much about. If she had a concussion, she'd probably have symptoms. If she broke her skull and has an hemorrhage, well, there's not too much you can do about it. I'd take her to the vet to see if she has any broken bones, specially around her jaw.

Well I've just woken her up about 10 minutes ago to check her again (She went to sleep after feeding), took a look in her mouth and started poking and prodding to see if she made a noise, and she seemed fine, her mouth doesn't look damaged or anything, she doesn't have any symptoms of a concussion, and I highly doubt she has a broken skull since there isn't a mark or any pain from her or anything.

To be honest, now that I think about it, she must be fine, I mean, when we got her mother, she was only 4 week old, and she used to love climbing everything she could get her paws on, and she climbed up to the top of the curtains (About 6'5-7ft off the floor) and willfully dived off, looking as if she was going to land on the settee, but completely missed it and hit the floor, she just laid there for 10-20 second looking around, got back up, and tried again, but we stopped her before she got to the top of the curtains, lol.

Come on! Nobody? No? Bah.

"Did she land on her feet?"

In all seriousness, she's probably fine. I dropped a hamster once from the same height and that was fine. The little bugger bit me and I dropped... threw... it. Accidentally. Across the kitchen.

Lol the whole thing about cats always landing on their feet is a load of crap, there's been tons of times where my cats have landed on their backs from falls and stuff, lol.

baby things are [generally] more resilient than you'd think. she's probably ok. if you were poking around on her and she didn't seem too upset about it (but was obviously squirming or reacting), she's likely not hurt. if she starts limping, can't fully wake up, or if she can't seem to hold her head up, then you have a problem. Watch her to see if she eats with the rest of her litter; shirking food is also a sign that something is wrong.

kittens need their first rounds of shots at between 6 and 9 weeks of age, so they're going to be due for a vet visit pretty soon anyway.

LOL

Anyway, when I came down this morning I checked to see if she was acting any different, and she seems fine, she's feeding properly, is running and jumping around, fighting with her sisters etc. So yeah, I reckon it didn't really do anything to her.

It's just over-exaggerated. "Cats typically land on the feet when the drop is at least 2 meters high" is more accurate. They need time to do the contortions required.
I highly suggest you don't conduct any experiments on that because that would be cruel

Mind you. A friend of mine had a cat which slipped off the balcony and feel 5 stories down. It only broke a tooth ^_^

*hugs*
