How to take ingame screenshots

Okay utter-noob question here.

I know how to take screenshots, but I want to know how some people post massive screenshots from ingame into the forums - only way I could do that is take multiple screens, edit them together and have a dozen main characters in each sector.

Any help? Thanks guys. I can't wait to show off some of my maps ;)

Press the "print screen" button and paste the image in window's paint if you are using a PC. For Mac's you can press, "shift+command+4" and take a screen shot that way.

Sechs, that wasn't his actual question. He knows how to take screenshots, he want's to know how to make big screenshots.
What I suggest is just taking screenshots from the map editor, but be sure only to select the "All Layers" options in the "View Menu", otherwise it may happen that you just see the current layer and that the others are near invisible. You can now take multiple screenshots and paste them together.
However, now I think of it, that only works if you just want to show the map. The light effects and other events are not shown. A solution for the problem where you see the main character a dozen times, is to change the picture of him. To do this go to the third tab of an event. Here you can change the "Actor Graphic", set it to none. Be sure to set this event to parallel process and test-play your game, you can now move around the map without a main character :thumb:
I hope you understand this, it's a large piece of text :smile:

Ah..
I assumed too much from just the title, sorry. ^_^;;
In any case, that is how you take a "massive" ingame screen shot. They can be good for game panoramas, like the cliff top maps that look over a village.

*Slaps forehead* of course - blank actor graphic... so obvious. LOL. Thanks! The links to the sephirothspawns scripts are dead, but thanks anyway brew. In the meantime I'll just stick to the long option with the blank actor graphic.

Cheers.

Awesome! Thanks brew. Now - another absolute newbie question... how do I use the files you gave me? I've copied over the .dll but that's all I've done so far. Is it just a matter of copying over my script files? If so - is there a way to just add to a script file without overriding?

The easiest way is to open 2 sessions of RMXP at once, and copy/paste between them.
Copy the 2 scripts from the demo (SDK Stuff & Map Screenshot) and add them to your project. (Insert above Main)

Look at the event in the demo for how to use it. You can also specify a name for the output file. (Instructions in the script)
