Sorry if this has been asked before, but this problem has been driving me crazy. Lets say you have a small section of the game that has some really rockin' midi going on, but when you encounter a battle it stops and starts playing the battle music. This song is really important for the mood of the adjoining maps and having it change would be like running into a wall.
I've tried setting the battle music to the same song but it skips back to the beginning of the song, so you don't get to hear the really good parts. The strange part is that even though it skips when the combat begins, the remainder is uninterrupted when combat is over (with battle ME off).
How the hell can I set it so it temporarily continues to play the map BGM continuously in and out of battle? I know there are some old school RPGs out there that did this to great effect, such as the memorable "haul ass out of ______ before it blows up while fighting things along the way to the exit" scenario so I hope you guys know what I'm talking about.
EDIT: Nevermind, I found out how to do it here. It took a wee bit of figuring and modifying the VX-ness of it to stick it properly into RMXP, but I got it working fine now.
In that case, I'll lock this for you. ~Gratheo
