How to Make an Animal Crossing Type Game?

Hello everyone! I was thinking about making an Animal Crossing type game Everything else is ok but I need to know how to Make Day/Time Based events and have people move in on certain days and make certain things happen on certain day and also have seasonal and month events and the Advanced NPCs? I was wondering if anyone can help me with this?

Actually, if it's going to be based on events, it really doesn't matter if it's XP or VX. But you're using XP, so at least we know now.

Doing the things you said would actually be very possible to do. It's just that they'd require quite a bit of work, and an extensive knowledge of switches, variables and conditional branches. The day-night thing would probably be the easiest to do, I believe there exists several tutorials to do it using events.

you're not very dedicated then are you......  this is just about the best system for day night kinda stuff out there IMO. Once you figure out everything you would understand why this is such a great system. It only takes me about 20 min to move everything. If you were to try and make this yourself, it would take a lot longer. My advice to you, take what you have, put it with what your going to have, and make it work. Making games is no easy process. If you think this is too hard to move over, I suggest that you just give up now because you don't have the work ethic to get a project of that porportions completed....

You don't need to copy every single event and variable, just look through it and check out how the common events are done. With basic variable and switch knowledge, you should be able to set and check time easily enough.

Like I just said earlier....Good Luck...this is probably the simplest one out there (that actually works well). Most others that are simpler are all failures or involve tons of scripting with stuff that you probably don't want to deal with....

Why don't you try eventing it yourself, then? It's simple if you know how to use variables and common events. Just create a Parallel Process Common Event, and add to a variable [Time] every frame, second, however fast you want it to go by. If you download eharper's version, you can see how he did it and work off it than copying the whole thing.

Yeah, the DTS can work nicely for an Animal crossing game. You even have the tileswap there for when your seasons change. Though, keying it into the internal system clock is not possible without a greater knowledge of coding than what I possess. So I guess it won't really be a proper AC game.

If you drastically want a simpler system, you can get an older version... but since its animal crossing, you'll probably want the calender feature inherent in the new versions.
