how does fruit loops work?

i have been listening to many songs made by Fl studio and all of them are repititave and perfectly on pitch and has the one instument added every 10 seconds effect.

Im wondering if FL studio is a mixer with already made pieces ready to be mixed (like garage band) or am i completely wrong?

i have never touched Fl studio so i would like to know how it works.

You can:

Write your own loops (Patterns) and then use them as you wish.
Import a breakbeat or loop and use them
If you don't like repeating the same loop, you can just make a whole song in only one pattern if you'd like. You do so via Piano Roll.

Search for Fruity Loops on youtube and you will find lots of projects showing you how to make music.
