How do you change movement direction of events?

Once a move event is stopped, (using say a blank move command) how do you get it to change its directionand what are the specific options involved (parallel process action button event touch( which I think would work) etc.)

What do you mean by "stopped"?  the move route command completed, or the event ran into something & can't complete the move?

If it can't complete, use the "Ignore if can't move" option.

to continue to move, use another 'Move Route' command.

The trigger you use depends on the situation. For a cutscene, where the player should not be able to move, use 'Autorun', but make sure you set a self switch at the end of the page, and create a new page with the condition, "Self Switch __ is ON", so the Autorun event doesn't continue to run & freeze your game.
If the movement is intended to occur on another part of the map while the player is playing, then a Parallel Process is in order. Again, if you only want it to happen once, you have to set a condition to stop it.

Here is the map we're working with there are meant to be mining carts moving along the tracks so following the red line we need that cart to stop, then move downward, stop, move right, and after moving down delete (as if going off screen). How do you erase the event after a move , wait for move's completion or ignore if can't move do not work
