How do i make my Text window different?

I have downloaded a bunch of window skins and i THOUGHT they were actually for Text (i am a noob at all this still) turns out they change the menu and title screen (der?)

So how do i change the text window E.G when a character talks? below is (hopefully) a youtube link to a guys intro and hes text is cool =P

How do you mean? If you're referring to the box around the text, that's the Windowskin, and it does normally change the windows when you use Show Text. If you're referring to the bits where it shows a name like that, that's a script.

Yeah i am referring to the box around the text. I downloaded a bunch of window skins and put them in but it only changed my menu and title screen for some reason?
thats why i'm asking how to get it around the text.

P.S. i already have the script that shows the name part.

It "should" change the text in game aswell, care to show a demo?

The script that adds the name box probably also sets the windowskin. Look for a line that looks like:

self.windowskin = RPG::Cache.windowskin("windowskin_name")

or

@windowskin = ""

Oooh i wasn't aware you needed a script to do this. I just added it under data base, thats why it was only changing the menu and title. Problem solved =D

You don't need a script to do it, the database way was correct, it's just that the script you were using made it so you needed to change it via scripting.
