How can i implement a 'tanking' feature in RMXP.

Hello :)

I was just wondering how i could make the enemy in an RMXP battle, solely attack a single target (one with the most health and armour), is there an attribute that indicates threat? or is there a special way of doing it.
Although this isn't in the script help section, i do not mind using a script for this.

Hm. Tricky. A script could probably do this, but I don't know how to do that, having only minimal skill.

Does it have to work the way that you describe, with attacks going to only the highest defense/HP member?

Or did you want an ability that forces monsters to attack the user? Because Force Action in a common event might just be able to do that...
 
Go to Game_Enemy in the script editor and modify the code under make_action. Since I don't know how exactly you have stats and stuff setup in your game, and how exactly you want this to work; it's hard to be more specific. If you would like additional help, provide a few extra details and we can figure it out.
 
I believe he is talking about hate/enmity/threat functions as seen in MMO RPGS. As in, each action generates hate/enmity/threat on the monster and whoever has the most hate/enmity/threat accumulated is the main target of enemies attacks and spells.

He is also wanting a skill that an actor can use that gives a huge hate/enmity/threat spike so he is more likely to be hit than the other characters. Ideally this character would have a lo of defense and HP.

At least am 99% sure that is what he is talking about

i mean most of this stuff, i need an attribute (AGI probably) which could increase threat, but that isnt essntial as it already increases dodge chance. and also a taunt which can be used to gain aggro, and a certain ammount of aggro generated from all spells of that class. really any way of preventing the enemies target from becoming randomly selected is good.

i found a threat script, but cant get it to work yet. post anything you think might help.
