This is my first game, so I highly apprecciate constructive criticism!

Horizon

Original concept was created for an illustrated novel. Then I turned it into a comic, slightly altered. And now it's a RPG!

Horizon tells a tale of Seagull, a young cartographer.
There's trusty companions, Empire as an Imperial Force, black humour, drama, politics, things to kill, loads of sidequests...
Basically the main "not so ordinary" point is that you get EXP from living aswell as fighting.

The demo is about 50-90 minutes in lenght. Depends on how hasty you are. I play it through in 30 minutes, but then again I don't read the texts, I know all the shortcuts, requested items and such. One larger city area, couple of demos, one killing zone and one boss. About 3-6% of the whole game.

PLEASE TELL ME IF YE FIND BUGS/ERRORS or OTHER LAME CRAP!

Game made with RPG Maker XP.
Special graphics (maps etc) made and the game build by me.
Brushes and photos from free stocks and Google - I'll add a complete credit list to the finished game.

I played a little of your demo and I have to say that your maps look really nice. I did find an error on your inn. You have the room divided with a wall but no ceiling. I added a ceiling for you.

In the beginning, I received an error - the panorama from your first scene is missing. Also, there's no music on your title screen - don't know if that was intentional, but if it was, I recommend adding music.
In the beginning, you do explain a little about the game. However, once I had control over the main character, I wasn't sure where I was supposed to go. I think it's a good idea to give the player a nudge in the right direction.
I recommend adding some screens to your post, like J-street said. Your maps look nice and I'm sure if you post them, other people will be more inclined to download your demo.

...I'm an idiot but I just don't know how to take screenshots O_o

Your computer keyboard should have a print screen button. When you press that button, it captures the image that is on your screen. After you have copied the image you want, open a paint program. Paste your image here and then remove any excess by cropping it. Then save it and upload it.

It's like copy and paste.
Prnt Scrn button = copy (alt+Prnt Scrn to copy a specific window)
Then just paste it in paint, save as a PNG (or HIGH quality JPG) and upload.

EDIT:
Damnit, alexia :p

I know the basics, but for some reason it isn't working. Maybe it's my computer, maybe it's just me... Oh, well.

May i say you have a very nice screens for maps. But some errors are visible,
the first town map, the chest in the upper right corner is visible even if under the tree...

And the fourth one, the middle of the room.. :D There is a 1mm wall!!! :D And lots of plants!

You have some misplaced items inside each map.. But when i look from afar, they look marvelous!

Good Luck with your gamE!

On the first screenshot there is something that doesn't look right.

If you look at the house with a door, and go to the point where the wall and the roof come together, you used the bridge as part of the house.

EDIT: Also, the plant things you used on the top of the buildings in the second screenshot... I think you overused them.

Yup - but I actually like it that way. It doesn't bother me as long as it doesn't disturb the game and it looks nice.

Or is it really an unwritten rule not to use unorthodocs methods?
I've used RPG Maker for a week now, so I'm not into the whole thing yet...
Does it have an unwanted effect of somekind?
