HK template FINAL RELEASE

Hey folks,

This has been circulating around with the HKCP team for a little bit now, and I thought I'd share it with any other HK enthusiasts . Its basically the final edit of my HK template. What I consider to be its complete form. No other edits will be made to these. I just thought I'd give HK fans a heads up.

Basically I added eyebrows, influenced by Venetia. Plus I relaxed the hands out of their fists and cleaned up any useless pixels that were making it puffy. It really helps loosen up the sprite and makes it easier to put on draping clothing like trench coats and accessories like side armor.

I'm probably going to edit the rest of the body types a bit some where down the road. I'll add them here when each template is completed and the HKCP team has given them the thumbs up. Stay tuned! You can see some examples in my new sig.

I think sprites look much smarter with eyebrows. Plus they help to convey emotion. I myself have picked up on Cerulean Skye's fascination with making full faces, with noses.

These sprites are large enough that you can make customizable faces for them (like in the HKCP). Don't stick religiously to a template, kiddies. SK's work should be a size/lighting/placement basis, not necessarily a general rule on how things HAVE to look.

Newbie spriters get hung up on following EXACT templates, but when you start to get better you'll realize that the more you change up a template, the more individualized, creative, and personal your sprites become. Sprites which stand out from the norm convey character and personality without ever having to say or do a thing. You should all remember that :)

Enjoy!

I just wanted to note, before someone complains that they look too "muscular", the general shape of them has changed very little, so it really shouldn't affect any HKCP clothing. The musculature you see is mainly a guide for shading, making it easier for you to figure out where the "curves" in the lighting should be. :)

@SK: I edited your post so members can use the new imgzoom feature on these so they can get a closer look ^_^

new Half-Kaizer sprites? new imgzoom feature? New Venetia avatar? so much to take in at once!

these look sweet. must learn to sprite and put these to use and join the hkcp and rule the world and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah ...

wow! They have hands now and alot more space between the arms and the body. The walk seems more realistic too animation wise. Awesome!

Wow..that in zoom feature's pretty slick

Just wanted to add though, if you don't like the changes you ARE free to , you know... not use them ?

There's a pixel on the male side-view that looks out of place. On the forehead. It kinda looks like it could be an eyebrow coming around from the other side, but its not there on the female template.
That's the only thing i can complain about. one pixel.

Not bad but yeah, fix up the males eye-brows.

If only I could use these commercially, lol.

I just have to use my own template.

wow, now I can see the difference.
I'm itching to get back into these =D

You should! you'd be a great addition to the HKCP =P
BTW if you don't like the eye brows they are extremely easy to get rid of while you're spriting, so , yeah , I'm probably not going to change them ^_^;

Stay tuned for the chubby template edits when they're done.

Definatly looks chubbyier! (did I spell that right?)

I really do like it and I actually quite like the eyebrows they just appear to curve in to much is all. I would probably just edit it though... If I used Half Kaisers.
