i know i posted a topic about my hippy a couple for weeks back, but i've changed it's changed so much, there was no point in modifing the last topic, this time i need C+C on the:

• the Lennon glasses (frames)
• the sandals
• the hair

The glasses weren't very obvious, at first I thought he had evil eyes. :P

Byt giving the frames of the glasses a more defined outline. Making them into an interesting shape (triangles, hearts...) would also work in this case; and be rather appropriate.

See how there are diagonal bands of highlight?

I still don't like how the hair appears to be striped, but admittedly I have know idea how to do hair. Lastly the sandal's colour seems a little too similar to the skin tone.

all good tips, thanks, but the glasses are too small to give them an outline, because they are only 1 pixel thick, and i've put diagonal lines the the glasses glare, but it just blends in with the darker red, to give it a fading effect.

OK, here's what I've noticed.
1 - your outlines are horrible. Keep them to 1pix thickness and don't make jaggies.
2 - Glasses in that style are bigger than your eyes. Don't feel restrained.
3 - the hair is downright hideous - check out Ven's HK Hair Tutorial.

Just focusing on the hair and glasses (didn't touch the headband or the 'sandals', which both need a bit more work than I feel up to at the moment), I came up with this. Hopefully you can use it as a reference.
