what do you mean by world map. like an IMAGE or like the ACTUAL MAP in the game. you need to be very specific on this kind of shit.

Well, there really isn't much to this, depending on which Final Fantasy you're talking about. 

Anyway, all you really need to do is get your hands on a world-map tileset, and create a map.  You can use a simple autorun event change the character to a smaller graphic when they're on the world map if you want to, but it's not necessary.  Make the towns into events that transfer the player to the town map, dungeons likewise, and you're good to go.

The big issue here is getting a tileset for a world map.
