Hello there, I am Jeff. I am new here to RMXP.org but not new to the internet, or to game making forums, or even to most of the admins, who already know me. A shout out to the cool cats: DN, Sophist, Teloch, Despain and hello to all of you cool people I have not got a chance to meet or get to know yet. If you were not aware -- or rather, if it was not obvious -- this guy and I are one and the same.
So, a little about me:
I am 23, have a degree in History, or rather I will when I finish up the courses for my minor in International Relations. I live in the armpit of the United States: Florida, for those of you fortunate enough to be from elsewhere. I am likely to go into politics, in which case I will be running for State Senate soon, or I will be continuing on the path to being a historian, in which case I will be either heading off to Iceland or Hawaii for my masters and doctorate.
I like all kinds of music ranging from progressive metal to classical, from Japanese rock to Mexican banda, from hip-hop to soundtracks, from ambient to classic rock. Odds are, if your favorite artists do not include 50cent, Paris Hilton, linkinpark, or Slipknot, (or any similar artists) we will probably get along alright...musically, at least. My favorite band is Ulver, followed by Fates Warning and Dire Straits. My other hobby besides music is reading; typically I read philosophy and history. My favorite Philosopher is Thomas Hobbes, favorite historian is Tom Holland, and favorite author is Hermann Hesse.
I don't know much about the intricate mechanics of RMXP or how to turn on a switch or run parallel events; I haven't even touched RM2k in years. What I do know how to do is advertise a project, attract members, and manage them. I can also tell you what makes a game good and how to improve yours (in my own opinions, anyway). I have been doing the job I currently do here for over four years over at Gaming World, and I am pretty darn experienced with managing teams, critiquing material, and making social relations in game development run smoother.
So, that's a good amount of information for you guys to get to know me, but if you care enough, ask anything else you want to know about me.
