Hello everyone! I registered about a week ago, played The Blacksmith's Apprentice* which I found while looking through Completed Games, and now I've been inspired to make an RMXP game of my own!
From what I've seen, this looks like a very friendly community, and I'm looking forward to any helpful advice or criticism anyone can offer. With introductions out of the way, I'd like to tell you guys a little bit about my current project and hopefully get a little feedback.

It all started out with me having a bit of fun making a map, a snowy town. I kept adding more and more to it, and now I'm pretty much finished with the town, and I think it looks pretty good. I have yet to add any sort of dialogue or storyline, but I think it has the potential to go just about anywhere. If you're interested, here are some screenshots I've taken.

^Updated^
I've only made a few more changes since those were taken. I've added a sign at each exit of the town that say nothing, and I've put some smoke in the chimneys.
The only bit of storyline I've come up with so far is the town being faced with some sort of threat which the player takes it upon himself to deal with despite everyone's disagreement. He will have to travel east of town into an expansive forest where he will learn combat skills from an old hermit before defeating the danger in the forest that poses a threat to the entire town. After dealing with this threat, the player will realize that his isn't the only town faced by the same danger. This will soon lead him on an adventure that I think is a bit overused, and I'll have to think about it some more.
And that's that! I look forward to meeting all of you, and any advice or criticism you can offer would be greatly appreciated!
