Helpful Resource/Tutorial links

THE RMXP.ORG BIG LIST OF
LINKS

In this thread lies a veritable treasure trove of links.
Brought together by members just like you, this list contains links to all of the resources, and tutorials you will ever need!
(although, not really)

Found a site worth sharing?

Post it here, so I can add it to the list!

I'll allow any of the following Links (they must be in a

category from the below, and be designed for RMXP/RMVX):

RTP RESOURCES: TILESETS &

AUTOTILES

RTP RESOURCES: CHARACTER SETS
RTP RESOURCES: MISCELLANEOUS
MISC. TILESETS & AUTOTILES
MISC. CHARACTER SETS
MISC. ICONS
MISC. FACE GRAPHICS
MISC. BATTLERS (ANIMATED)
MISC. BATTLERS (STATIC)
BATTLE BACKGROUNDS
WINDOWSKINS
MUSIC (MIDI)
MUSIC (OGG OR MP3)
SOUND EFFECTS
RESOURCE-GENERATING SOFTWARE
PIXELLING TUTORIAL SITES
HELPFUL PALETTE-CREATION SITES

If they are Japanese (or another langage than English), please write

[Japanese] next to it or something. Also, please link

to the one that has been already translated!!!
Translator

links are below.

Script-only sites or links to things not related to RMXP, pixelling, or

music/sound, don't belong here.

Additionally, I want links to sites. Photobucket pages are okay.

Don't just post resources here I can link to. The link must have more

than one file on the other end, but I don't care if the site is pretty. Also

I won't post links to sites with crummy resources. Linking to a

workshop here (at RMXP.org) is allowed, as long as it's where you're

plugging all the resources you make, not just a few!

Thanks a lot for your help.

Please include a very brief site description--I'd appreciate it.

Sprite Database.
Has many sprites from many game developers. A must see!

Fenrir Sprites Domain.
Another rips site, but nice quality.

The SkyGuy Kingdom.
Even more rips! Wowz!

RPG RPG Revolution RMXP Resources.
If you're looking for a crapload of RMXP resources, this place has a good deal. It also has some things for RMVX and older RPG Makers in other areas of the site.

RPG Palace. [Membership Required]
Ever wonder where The Inquisitor hails from? It's here. You'll find his and several others' works here.

Xeil's Twilight Paradise.
Go to "Xeil's Sprite Workshop" to find some modern/futuristic tilesets and things. Don't forget to credit Xeil!
Note: Unless these sites offer their own translations, the links below have already been run through an English-translator for you. Because of that they may take a little longer to load than usual.

Enterbrain's Resource Creator Index
A list of many resource creators that Enterbrain has acknowledged.

Mack's Looseleaf site.
Who doesn't know who Mack is?

The TKool Link Exhange.
The TKool (Japanese name for RMXP) link exchange site. Lots of helpful links there.

Naramura's general game sprite/resource archive.
Have you seen the nicely done anime-style battlers/faces floating around? If so, they were most likely by Naramura.

Pickle/IceAx's site.
(Currently inactive until VX is released)

HOT TOKE:
Great enemy graphics.

Crimson Lotus.
Battlers, face sets, character sets.

Seen.
Some very cute character graphics, mostly modern/futuristic.

Some very cute, rather small battlers.

Kamio's "workwork". More battlers and a few charsets.

Kuribo.

Hungry Mouse.
Great resources, mostly tilesets. [Japanese, but the website has its own translation]

A Country of Sunrize.
Resources for everything, great site.

BATTLE BACKGROUNDS/PANORAMAS
***Note: These may just be links to paintings and things that you need to resize yourself.***

Gunsmith Cats Portfolio. There are a few neat cityscapes in here.

Yeah I'm having a hard time finding these. You, with the Internet Box! Find me some nice background galleries to link to (no real-life photography)!

MUSIC/SOUND EFFECTS

Sakari-Infinity.
Beautiful MP3 music.

VG Music.
Ripped music from various video games.

The Freesound Project.
I always come here for great sound effects. They're all completely free as long as you credit their authors, and 100% original. Use their 'search' function to find what you're looking for, but you may need to edit the sounds because a lot of the tracks are custom-recorded.

Absolute Sound Effects Archive.
Using the drop-down menu on the right, you can navigate their pages and pages of useful sound effects.

A1 Free Sound Effects.
This site is ugly as sin and a pain to navigate but you can't deny how useful a lot of the sounds are. It looks like a paysite but a lot of the effects on there are free.

Partners In Rhyme.
Looking for a BGS or SE? They've got a good lot of them. Many of them require purchase, but go to the Free Section--there's a good bit of stuff there.

XVinh's Music Collection.
A bunch of MIDIs have been collected here by XVinh--don't forget to credit :)

Free Play Music.
An easy-to-search site with more than 2300 songs available for download!

PDM Forum - Edenbeast's Kofmi2 Voices.
Scroll down past the gibberish bbcode and you'll find about 40 voice files there.

Abyssal Chronicles' Audio Files.
Some "Tales of" voices/audio.

The Voice Acting Alliance.
If you need voice acting, this is a good place to look. Just don't forget to be polite, detailed, respectful, and use some grammar/punctuation!

NEWGROUNDS Audio Portal.
A whole bunch of BGM/ME tracks that are free to use [with credit!].

Blue Laguna MP3s.
Ripped video game music and much more!
Note: Unless these sites offer their own translations, the links below have already been run through an English-translator for you. Because of that they may take a little longer to load than usual.

Atlier Nonta. Some very nice stuff in the Free Music section.

5th Avenue. Woo hoo, MIDI's!

Wakaba Music. MP3's and MIDI's.

TAM Music Factory. MIDI's, MP3's, and Sounds, all specifically for game making.

Buttobi.
Very difficult to navigate, but you'll find some things if you look.

Freedom House. Little ME's and BGM's to enjoy.

G2 Midi. Note I don't think this site works with Firefox, though.

RESOURCE-GENERATING

SOFTWARE/WEBSITES

The FaceMaker program.
Create anime-style faces. [Japanese]

DollBits FaceMaker.
It's the Japanese FaceMaker, but translated and made into a web-based thing. Easier for English-speakers.

Character Maker XP.
I believe this one comes complete with the resources I made for it. It's just a FileFront link because I can't find the actual site for the generator.

Mack's Charset Maker?.
I can't figure out how to work this, but apparently it's a web-based character generator. Hm.

Ragnarokcs Sprite Generator.
Generate a Raganarok sprite of your own!

Backwater Productions Charset Maker.
Another online RTP charset generator.

HeroMachine 2.5. [Membership Required]
Make old-fashioned American-comic styled front-view battlers here.

PIXELLING TUTORIAL SITES

Pixel Joint. This is a network for budding pixellers; great place to see samples of what a good pixel artist can do!

Way of the Pixel - Pixel Art Gallery.
You'll find some incredible samples of pixel art here. Some people even work on RMXP things!

Mark's Pixel Art Tutorial.
Need help getting started in your pixelling endeavors? Look no further.

Derek Yu Tutorial.
I've personally found this rather helpful, and you may, too!

HELPFUL PALETTE-CREATION SITES

Color Magix.
Some very nice, easy-to use palettes. Also, some drawing tutorials, for all you burgeoning anime artists out there.

Sparkling Ice Palettes.
A must-have--these palettes are wonderful.

Kaliber 10000.
Need pixel patterns? This site won't let you down.

Color Scheme Generator.
Have HTML HEX code for a color (like a 6-digit color code)? Enter it here and it'll come up with the color's contrasts, compliments ... Everything. Absolutely 110% useful to recolorers, pixelers ... Anyone dealing with color!

I found a Monster/Battler Generator here: http://www.tektek.org/dream/  :straightthumb:

Very helpful if you want to creator Heroes or Monsters for Battles. It's free to use and you don't need to be a member of the site "Gaia", however you have to be a member to enter contest and stuff like that. Hope this is helpful!

Free to use? Gaia online forbids picture from their avatar generator to be used in other games! 'Sides, everybody are already knows this....

That's weird. Those sites've been around forever, I can't imagine why they'd be down now ;_;

The upside is most of those resources are pretty common, so you should be able to get by by searching for "naramura [whatever]" and etc..

I believe Strawberry Quartz was hacked or something because it's been down for awhile and then it came back up, but when it was up, there were links of random porn at the bottom. (Asian Porn, Latino skanks, you know that shit)So the owner probably took it off again since it wasn't fixable.

Heres a bunch of monster PNGs from a hentai CG set I downloaded called "Dungeon Cursaderz 2" by Atelier Kaguya (the name of the company) None of them are hentia in any way so dont worry. Obviously they would be perfect to use as enemy battlers, some nice art. I resized many of them so they fit in the tiny RMXP window.
