Help with LegACy's CMS script

I added LegACy's CMS to my game a while ago, but recently noticed that the characters in my party disappear whenever I call it up (I'm also using a caterpillar script), although they come back after I exit the menu. So, I searched the topic, and found a patch for the script that makes it compatible with the caterpillar script. However, I haven't the slightest clue as to what to do, due to lack of knowledge (even the instructions given were over my head).
