Help using a message script

I'm using Dubealex's message script, and just don't know how to make it work. I've been looking at an instruction manual, which makes me think I'm supposed to simply type commands into the "show text" events, but when I try this I can't get even the most basic commands to work. For example, if I want to show the map name, I'm just typing "/Map" into the show text event, and instead of the character saying the map name he says "/Map". What am I doing wrong? Is there somewhere else I'm supposed to type these commands? Please help.

EDIT: Yeah, now I feel stupid. I was putting the slashes the wrong way. Problem solved.

Im i beleive you'll have to add the id Such as

/map[1] This will have the name with map id 1.
