I dunno how many this applies to, but anyway.
Virgin Megastores was the largest entertainment retailer in the UK, owned by the Virgin group. They eventually decided (the management) to buy themselves out, and became Zavvi.
Woolworths, suppliers of Zavvi, went into administration -- causing Zavvi to do the same.
Head bought 10 of the stores about a year ago.
Well, now Head is closing down.
There's some insane offers on at the moment. I picked up Series 3 of The West Wing for £3.50; the Ally McBeal boxset my sis bought for my mom's birthday for £50 is now... well, £2 per season for 5 seasons.
There's a load of really good CD's too - they have ALL of zavvi's stock. I think that's like 350 stores worth of stock packed into 10; the CD's are about 50p each if not cheaper but they're all shoved in big boxes. If you have time you can grab some great rare shit in there.
