HBPaste Security Changes

HBPaste - http://www.hbgames.org/paste

This is an important announcement about our private pastebin.

In an effort to stop spam bots before they become too bad, I have implemented some security features:

No http in titles

This was a quick fix about a month ago since I noticed all the spambots used http****** as their script names.

Unfortunately it looks like from today they have realised this and the names are just random.

No Hyperlinks

The system will now check to see if you have attempted to add hyperlinks (in the form "<a href=") in your post. The majority of users won't have a problem with this.

If you ever do need to use html in the pastebin, then I apologise for the inconvenience. try putting two spaces between "a" and "href", or other workarounds. I am very sorry for the trouble.

Caught this one as it happened (but was too busy to fix it then) - which is great, only two spam posts were made.

Yeah good point. If this doesn't work that's an option.

I just really hate captchas as I personally can never do them (bad eyesight?).

Ahh, well, ReCaptcha is designed to be pretty easy for humans compared to others. Basically, they take words from books that they are trying to convert to digital, but their OCR was not able to convert the word. So they put it up on the captcha and that way, a person will be able to read it but a bot won't (since OCR can't recognize it.) They pair the unknown word with a known word, so then if the known word was typed correctly, they take the user's input for the unknown word and compare it to other inputs for the same word and eventually that word becomes a known word. That way, they can convert books to digital by having tons and tons of people use the ReCaptcha
