Having some troubles with Graphic Drivers...

I recently downloaded an updated graphics driver. However, now everything looks.. Different . But in a bad way. The text all squishes together and these a weird pulsing across that screen that hurts my eyes. I download the "updated" version at http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/115607 , and thats when everything got weird. I was hoping it would allow me to run Sims2, but it has not done that and has now simply made it so my computer hurts my eyes.

How can I revert to my older graphics drive? This thing is driving me nuts.

I'm considering downloaded the latest version of this graphics card (the one I had before had the same name, but was a different version number) as I'm considering maybe I downloaded an older version. Please help. (I would get it from what appears to be the official website of this drive company, http://members.driverguide.com/driver/d ... rid=229405)

I'm not a whizz with re-installing drivers, but I have an inkling about the pulsating screen and text squishing.

First of all, XP or Vista?

That pulsing you're noticing on the screen is probably a low refresh rate if you're using an old CRT.  Most people don't notice the flicker at above 60hz, but some people have more sensitive eyesight (I notice a visible and annoying flicker up to about 75hz for instance).  In Windows XP normally your refresh rate is locked at 60 unfortunately, so you have to get a registry hack to force it to go higher, unless your video driver has a built in refresh override (which does essentially the same thing as the various hacks you can find out there).

As for squishy text, I'm not sure what you mean by that.  Once again assuming it's a CRT, you may have an issue of your screen resolution being set to widescreen and your monitor is squishing in the sides to fit on a 3x4 screen.  In that case simply switch to a non-widescreen resolution (800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960, 1600x1200, etc at a 4:3 ratio).

Anyway if you're running an LCD (flat panel) monitor you probably are still having resolution issues, but LCDs don't flicker so I can't account for the pulsing.  Anyway let us know.  A driver rollback may not fix your problem.

Sorry for the very late reply, but Bustersword told me exactly what I needed to do. Thanks! =)

I'm also very thankful for everyone else here for trying to help. A moderator can lock this topic now.

We don't lock resolved topics anymore ^^  If you like, you can edit your original post and add [resolved] to the title and just let it fall off the page. ~N
