Harry Potter sprites

I'm making a Harry Potter parody game and I've made these exclusive sprites of Harry, Ron and Hermione.
They're probably a lot better than the other ones out there, or at least that I've seen. :lol:

Don't ask why they're wearing gloves. They're magical. And yes, I know Hermione's skirt is a bit weird, but I'm proud of how she turned out. She was the first female charset I've ever done. :smile:
Based off of the uniforms woren in the Order of the Phoenix movie.

Keep in mind that other people usually make my sprites for me, so I'm sort of new to spriting and I don't use anything but...MS PAINT DUN DUN DUN! O_O

Btw, you need to work on your shading.

Umm, they look very much like Character Maker XP sprites, with very slight edits. That whould also explain the gloves.

Sorry if I'm wrong.

Anyway, the outline on Hermione's skirt is too dark at the back, and the shading is way too basic. Your paletes also need a lot more contrast. There is also no shading what so ever on any of thier jumpers. Try just recolouring the template, and then editing that.

The red on thier tyes is extremely bright, try darkening it a bit.

And where are Harry's glasses and scar?

Oh yeah, and Harry's eyes are green, by the way, you might want to change that.

EDIT: And MSPaint really isn't that bad for spriting. I know GraphicsGale is alot better, but I prefer to use MSPaint for my spriting.

I agree with Ynlraey. The sprites need a bit more shading, and it's something you need to work on. They look a bit flat right now without the shading.

MSpaint is a good tool to use when you work on sprites. I use it aswell.

Im not spriter, so you won't hear any 'Darken this, Lighten that', stuff from me.
But i'm going to say that Hermione, doesn't really look like Hermione.

In a Harry Potter game, next to Harry and Ron, she'd be noticable.
But probably not anywhere else o-o

Yes, I got the gloves and hair from CharmakerXP and did the rest on my own.
Gahh crap, I'm a Harry Potter nerd and I don't even notice the eyes thing. xD
I had to leave his glasses and scar out due to clutter. I tried to add them in, but like every other Harry sprite out there, they make his face look like a cluttered mess.

Yeah, I couldn't really bring out the Emma Watson-y quality of Hermione in a little pixel girl.

At this point the second and third row of Hermione sprites look completely awkward.
The skirt didn't come out too good. It's almost like shes got a penis  :shock: Sorry, but that the only way I could put it.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. :P But eh, it's my first female sprite so...heh...

Be aware that Ron is always lot taller than Harry in the series, you may wanna edit that.
And be sure to put glasses on Harry (Not with the blackest black, but with grey, and not everywhere. Just a little tiny bit of showing that there is something.) Oh, and maybe you should make Harry's hair lot more disheveled (You know, like Cloud's  :lol

The sprites look pretty good, hundreds time better then what I'll ever come up with... but that's because of me sucking, not because of you O.o... well yea you not sucking helps.
