Hair Sideviews? I have no idea!

Ok, so I found, like I said on  one of my previous topics, I'm restarting my old game, so I found this incomplete sprite of the main character on my photobucket about 10 minutes ago and I decided to finsih it... SUDDENLY!!! I can't do the sideview of his hair, it's really annoying the crap outta me..

So, could I have some pointers on how to do it? maybe an outline or somthing, because I've already tried 3 times and can't seem to get it right-

I think maybe you should spend more time getting the front view hair to look like hair first. Be patient and take your time. Rome was not built in a day my friend.

It would help a lot if you used the imgzoom tags. Just by looking at it at a 1x view I can see that your hair colours need more contrast though.

On your 'walking down' sprites. the 2nd and the 4th, look like your character is carrying a baby. And the hair looks fine color magix?
I'd suggest the 2nd one for the hair

I'd like to help but I'm having a hard time figuring out the hair style. Just looking at the front view I'd guess it would look something like this:

But the side view attempts look like you had something else in mind. The 3rd sideview one looks like I couple birds landed on his head.
