Guarduia Kingdoms

This is my first game using RM, so here's the story so far:
Story:
The Imperal Kingdom had seen an era of peace and prosperity, all brought by it's king, Emperior Guarduia. Guarduia had, at the time of his acsension to the throne, made a deal with the Gods. He would rule the kingdom in an era of everlasting peace, free of war, famine, and poverty. In exchange, he was given a sealed box, and instructed never to open this box, that it contained the power that kept his kingdom at peace. Should he ever open the box, the peace would come to a crashing end. For many years, Guarduia kept his feelings towards this box under control, and was content with the deal he had.

But as time went on, his curiosity began to take control of him, and his greed ate away at him. If he could open the box, would he have the power to control this peace? Slowly, Guarduia began to show signs of his rising madness, as several of his subjects began to take notice. Guarduia, out of fear and greed, had anyone who showed any intrest in the box executed, thus he executed several of his own subjects. However, even this could not contain his growing madness, and eventually, Guarduia's mind snaped. One day, he went to the chamber where the box was held, and flung the lid open. In that moment, the power contained in the box was released.

The box held the power of Creation, and as long as Guarduia kept the lid closed, the power would create a future of peace for him. In that instant, the power of Creation engulfed his kingdom, throughout time and space, warping it into a single world. In the blink of an eye, a patchwork world formed from the Imperial Kingdoms throughout time appered, leaving anyone who was not directly assimilated into the world trapped in this spiraling world of chaos, know as the Stratums, as it was comprised of various realms. However, all hope is not lost.

One lost soul in the steam of time found it's way into this world, and met with a mysterious man who offered the soul a body and another life, in exchange for exploring the twisted world, making it's way through the stratums of space and time, till it found the Box of Creation within the Stratums' core, and shut the box, resealing the power inside. Can this soul, along with the souls of Guarduia's kingdom end this nightmare??

Currently, the game features 12 unlockable characters (Many more comming soon), and a material-driven world, where you craft 90% of your items and can customize your weapons and armor, as well as manage each character's growth. As well, hopefully a color edit system where you can edit each actor's colors from a choice of 8. Thinking about doing away with the traditional class system and putting in a Skill shop system.

Alternate Tactical battle system (For big battles)
Color Edits (Need Recolors, let me know if u wanna Help!)
Skill Shop (Thinking bout it...)
Side View Battle (if i can get animated sprites.)
 
How are the characters unlocked? Tell us more about the skill shop system. How are you going to craft? Minigame, or a basic system? And are you using scripts for your character development? (colors, etc.) Because eventing it will take forever.

Just some things to think about. Decent storyline. A bit confusing, but it can be done. Keep working with it.
 
First question: how do you pronounce "Guarduia"?

Secondly, you need to split up the storyline into two or more paragraphs so it's more readable. It's hard to keep one's place in a giant block of text.

Now, onto less trivial matters. The concept is good and even quite unique. Guarduia's character development reminds me a little of Macbeth, so I'm hoping you have at least a few scenes before the story or during the story showing Guarduia's progression into insanity.

The concept of times being intertwined could certainly be an interesting aspect and I think you should work on using it to the best of your ability. Things like seeing a child playing in the forest in one map and then seeing the child as an adult in the next map could create a really interesting atmosphere.

In terms of features, you seem almost too ambitious. Make sure you implement one thing at a time instead of just throwing it all together at once. You don't want to overload the player, which is something I've seen some RM games try to do. Start off basic and work up to things like the skill system and material creation.

Also, be careful about using the tactical battle system with the turn-based or side-view battle system. Make sure it seems consistent. Don't just throw something into the game for an added cool factor. My best recommendation would be to create a sort of tutorial section in the beginning that introduces the player to both battle systems and maybe touches on skills and item creation.

Good luck with this! It has a lot of potential, so make sure you take the time to really flesh it out.
