Greatest Music, Movies, and Games of All Time.

THE BEST MUSIC, MOVIES, & GAMES (and stuff)
OF ALL TIME

[ In your opinion ]

Okay, I don't want to see any bickering about what people like, I know how touchy people get over preferences in music!!

NOTE:

  • When I say, "your generation", I mean, the span of time in which you've been alive (i.e. You were born in '84? That means "your generation" = the last 22 years). And I mean of the way of life you knew, the world around the people of your age.
  • When I say, "your parents' generation", I mean from the time they were born, until they reached, say, 30. Because we all pretty much have our favorite preferences by then and stick with them. Please don't argue with this, just work with me here. (i.e. Your parents were born in the early 60's? Then their generation spans the 60's, 70's and 80's. Include mom & dad together in an average. I don't want to know about both of them.)

I don't know, it's safe for everyone so it shouldn't go in The Symposium, and it's not really a forum game, so I figured General Discussion was good.

  3. Who do you think has been the most influential artist/band (music-wise) of your generation?
    1. The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I grew up in Southern California, and every one of their songs is the epitome of the life I lived there (fast, funky, and yet somehow, laid back).

    1. The Beatles, again. They released a ridiculous amount of songs and altered the way rock was perceived permanently.

What is your favorite artist/band of all time?

Your Answer: King Crimson

you're welcome :>

also this will be tufftuff

What is your favorite song of all time?
a very close tie between Porcupine Tree, "The Rest Will Flow" and Stars of the Lid, "Requiem for Dying Mothers".
What is your favorite artist/band of all time?
right now it's Porcupine Tree. i listen to too much music to choose a definitive FAVORITE ARTIST EVER though; i'd list by genre but that would take up too much space~
Who do you think has been the most influential artist/band (music-wise) of your generation?
Nirvana. i hate them pretty badly but they carved a pretty fucking big niche in popular music.
Who do you think was the greatest artist/band of your parents' generation?
Robert Fripp. both King Crimson and his stuff with Brian Eno are incredible.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
i don't really watch movies ever so i'll go with [/i]Rugrats in Paris[/i]
What movie do you think was the most artistic/stunning movie of your generation?
artistically, Waking Life. it was an interesting movie alone but the art style and general ATMOSPHERE are probably the best i've ever seen.
What is your favorite movie from your parents' generation?
Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail
What is your favorite game of all time?
definitely Baldur's Gate II.
What game do you think changed your life the most (if any), or which game do you think was the most artistic/impressive?
this one's a toughie. Hero's Quest/Quest for Glory I was the first game i've ever played and without a doubt molded me a ridiculous amount (my preference of PC gaming over console gaming stems from this series), but Baldur's Gate (the first one) was really the one that BROUGHT ME INTO the whole PC gaming field and "video" games as an art form, rather than just an entertainment medium.
If your parents' generation had the games of yours, which do you think would be the top-sellers (genres/specific games)?
definitely party games - guitar hero, WII TENNIS or whatever, etc.

    1. Your Answer: Maybe KISS or The Beatles? I'm not so sure.
  5. What is your favorite movie of all time?
    1. Your Answer: That would be either Secret Window or Hide and Seek, the 2005 movie.
  6. What movie do you think was the most artistic/stunning movie of your generation?
    1. Your Answer: Umm...I'll vouch for Fahrenheit 9/11, even though I didn't see it.

    1. Your Answer:
  8. What is your favorite game of all time?
    1. Your Answer: It's a four-way tie between The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy 7, and the Kingdom Hearts series.
  9. What game do you think changed your life the most (if any), or which game do you think was the most artistic/impressive?
    1. Your Answer: Ocarina of Time hands down for changing my life. It got me deeply into games at an early age.
For most artistic, either Kingdom Hearts 2 or Final Fantasy 7. Aerith's Theme makes my heart ache, but Kingdom Hearts 2 was the first to make me cry on-spot, with Goofy's psuedo-death by falling rock.':|
  10. If your parents' generation had the games of yours, which do you think would be the top-sellers (genres/specific games)?

  6. If your parents' generation had the games of yours, which do you think would be the top-sellers (genres/specific games)?
    1. They'd be too busy doing drugs & sleeping with the whole neighbourhood to play games. But if they weren't, adult themed games would sell a lot better than they do today.

Yeah but saying the English title implies that I liked the English dub. Which I didn't, the original in French is... Much, much better in my opinion. It could just be that the lips didn't sync and that kind of takes you out, or maybe that the voice actors weren't all that great... The subtitled version just worked much better for me.
