Graphic Workshop

Hey Blokes and Sheelas how are yahs?
I've decided I want to take some of my old drawings and turn them into graphical images.
I'm using Paint Shop Pro 11 and I'm not altogeather adept at it as I use it most commonly for spriting or simple edits.
Anyway to kick start it here is my first image:

First thing first is the brightness ok because my laptop monitor is brighter than most.

First impression- Work on your linework.
Some advice- Try to stay away from shortcuts like textureing and filling etc. unless youre actually cell shading

Other than that I like the concept. maybe you could have shown the actual character with like an evil shadow or something. Just an idea. The brightness is alright.

It's pretty obvious you are an arist and I ain't because I'm going to ask, what you mean in particular for line work.
Shamefully I admit it is all straight lines, both purposefully an unintentional.
I used Vector images to create the whole thing except the texture which isn't well recieved so far.
if it's the line boldness that is the issue this was intentional as I was trying to make the edges of the cliffes more distinct than the shifts in surface and angle. (did that even make sense at all?)

Also I tried to atempt some of your advice I understood and this is what I edited:

Nothing much changed really. -_-

It isn´t bad, but I believe it took like 4 minuites to do very easy in paint. Try other programs and sit longer while doing your pictures ;/

That comment comming from a member who complained about other people posting things that could be recieved as harmfull in his own thread being a hypocrite? Surely not! This would have probably took a lot longer than 4 minutes and as he said already he used Paint Shop Pro 11, not Paint. Though if you think you're so hot I'd like to see an image you did in Paint in 4 minutes?

Ultimaodin the image looks nice over all and I like the general style, the basicness is very appealing to me and I like the way you hide the persons identity by having him entirly black. The one thing I'm not too keen on is the sky, it just seems very odd in comparison to the rest of the image, if you changed that I think it would improve the picture quality a lot.

What he means by line quality (I think) is look where the bolder lines hit the thinner one. They block off funny. Make them fade a bit more. Also, your character looks a little flat. Maybe bulk him up a bit to fix that.

But if this is your first time using Paint Shop to actually paint something, good job. I dig it.
