Got a question about battling.

Hi, was wondering if anyone could help me with an on map battle system.

e.g
Legend of Zelda. You press a button and swing your sword.

I'd like to press space to make my character attack the enemy, instead of going into a battle menu.

Like I said, help. You don't have to do it for me, and if you do. Please explain it.
