Goldeneye (Wii)

I think I just came.

Number 3: Nintendo are really pulling out all the stops at E3 this year and making up for that retarded conference a few years back with Wii Music. Yes, it's back, Goldeneye, the greatest First Person Shooter of all time. Anyone argues, I will rape them. Call of Duty has nothing on Goldeneye.

Yeah... so apparently Daniel Craig is the Bond in this one. Okay then. Well I can't complain, not sure if this is a remake or a requel or a cheap gimmick to pull a few cash and sort out MGMs serious money drain problems. Personally I hope it's a great game and doesn't try to over-call-of-duty-ify it. Not that I have anything against COD it's just that there's a time and a place for realistic FPS's and Goldeneye was simple and fun. Keep to the formula guys and don't cock it up like you did with the abomination that is Rogue Agent.

Haha, wow. I have good memories of sitting in my friend's playroom, playing multiplayer GoldenEye for hours on end. It was easily one of the best multiplayer games for the N64, period. I don't know if I'll end up buying this one but the overall feel of the game feels almost exactly the same - they pretty much nailed it. I'm glad they kept it that way c:

I might buy.

Wii doesn't seem built for serious games though. Don't get me wrong I love it and it's my favourite console, but first person shooters? Will have to see.

this is gonna suck and here's why:

-not rare making this one so lol

- graphics are HORRIBLE they are somewhat consistant with the n64

-lol wii fps (cod4 wii? lolable)

-perfect dark was much better (altho its the same engine)

come on nintendo you gave us DKC 4 you can do much better.

yeah that was the first thing I thought when I saw the video. then again, I've stopped expecting the Wii to have good graphics for anything other than its enormous flagship titles (SMG2)

metroid prime 3 was pretty good though I'm not understanding all the "lol wii fps" going on

what its not about wii standards its about whats GOOD and WHATS SHIT

in the past people could take shitty polygons and horrible textures because that was the NORM, now that the 360 and ps3 can keep up there is no reason the wii cant dish out

case and point: super mario galaxy (hell even brawl was doing good graphically)

i dont like the whole "well this is good for the wii lol" argument, whats stopping me from going out and buying COD4 or some other fps on the ps3/360 instead of this? huge spoiler: nothing

the wii is being treated like a polished gamecube and its NOT it has so many built in features (most have to be hacked to use, like a DVD player FUCK YOU NINTENDO) that most companies arent using and its a shame. it can make some AMAZING results. so no, this is not pretty decent for wii standards.

they should have just put this on 360 seriously why the hell would you put goldeneye on the wii i just dont get it.

thats more of an exeption to the rule, mp really ISNT a standard fps imo (yeah it was good on wii ill agree)

play cod4 or a rail game like umbrella chronicles and youll see what i mean

Awesome Bro

They had to put Goldeneye on a Nintendo console due to the rights over the IP

I remember there being a case with Nintendo and Rare arguing over the rights to the Goldeneye IP, since Rare is owned my Microsoft now, and since it's coming out for Wii, I'm assuming Nintendo won those rights,

However, what I don't get is that EA made a Goldeneye game years back, y'know, Rogue Agent, so I don't know how they scored the IP o.O

Either way, I honestly think graphically the game looks good for the Wii, and yeah, I can say "For the wii standards", since the Wii isn't a HD console so obviously can't pull off PS360 style graphics due to hardware limitations.

Hmm, thats odd. That sucks they got the rights. Thanks for that info, Jbrist.

yeah its not that the game looks GOOD or BAD its moreso that the standard should be much higher for a next gen console imo, but yeah the HD limitations are dumb. Nintendo needs to learn to design consoles better and not pull all their time into make games

oh yeah dude I'm not saying I'm RESIGNED to it at all. it's still pretty lol that every third-party game comes out looking like a gamecube launch title, but it's happened so much that I can basically say to myself "it's going to look like shit" before I even open the thread or watch the trailer or whatever.

I played some goldeneye waaay back in the day with friends and I gotta agree with petros, pretty much the only thing that wouldn't still be cool by today's standards is the graphics. that aspect's sort of fallen through by the looks of it, so I don't have too much hope tbh.

oh shit, killer7 would be amazing if they ported it to wii

graphics wouldn't even be a thing; you could already count the polygon's on everyone's face in the original and it still came out looking alright

also it'd probably suck no matter who got the rights. most of Rare's core members jumped ship when they went over to Microsoft, so the name is really all they have. iirc all their games have sort of sucked ever since the xbox came out.

Oh well, on the topic of Bond games, I wanna' see more on Blood Stone, they released a trailer yesterday, or was it the day before, which actually looked pretty cool...
