God of War Collection

I'm sure some of you may have heard about this somewhere, because it is pretty big--huge for that matter. But, for those of you who don't know what it is, it's a compilation of the first two God of War games that were released on PS2 (God of War and God of War II). The compilation will be on one Blu-Ray disc for PS3 with both games remastered for 720p High-Definition with anti-aliased graphics (no idea what it means, but it sounds like it matters). Now, here's the two things that are really going to make you buy this collection: For one thing, both games will have Trophy support. Last, but in no way least, the collection will contain the E3 demo of God of War III. Yeah!!

I just wanted to hear what you guys thought about this because I'm definitely psyched. One thing I'm worried about though is that this sort of thing will turn out to be Sony's replacement to backwards compatibility. That would suck...having to rebuy all your PS2 games.

Okay well first, Anti-aliasing gets rid of all the jagged edges by smoothing them out, a lot of games make use of this as it makes them more presentable...

Secondly, you forgot to mention that they're both running at 60FPS (Frames Per Second), some people will think "... So ?", but it's actually a big leap for a game to run flawlessly at 60FPS with no dips or anything, it makes everything seem so smooth and fluid.

I AM looking forward to this, except I'm here in the UK, so it isn't being released until next year, that's if it IS being released here, all we've heard is "We can't fit that onto our roster this year", so what does that mean ? o.O

I COULD just import it, but I can't be arsed really, I can just play the originals I have on the shelf over there *points*, although this will be a nice buy... when/if it's released here.

its out!! man its pretty sweet... though ive only played the first one so far... it seems to be very pixellated... hope GW2 isnt like that

i didnt notice any pixelation at all, and im running at 1080p even though its made for 720p, my only beef is that all the menus and even the hud are stil set for a 4:3 aspect ration instead of 16:9 so they end up stretched a little

I have this game now (for a while actually) and it is so great to be able to play these amazing games again! My favorite thing about them is that they have trophy support, and a God of War III demo!

I played both games before on the PS2, but when I sold my PS2 to get a PS3, I couldn't play them anymore.
