My first real template, and it's loved !

Goblin Template

Hmm, what to say...
I made a template which was for VX, it was way too squared, it looked like legomen, and didn't really animate well, so I decided to scrap it.
After sprite work with Axerax doing some breeze work for his game Kailis, I tried another attempt, but at an XP one, and to be honest, I'm VERY happy with the outcome, and already have someone using it as the template for their game (Mr_Smit/h).

Here's the template, it has two versions, and a new one being worked on:
Standard:

As it is being used in a game, that means I am going to be making variations of this, I'll make a female and a child version of it, but I don't know when they'll get released, as I have a ton of things to do, I've got TLS, EW!, and now some sprites for this !

What does everyone think ? Useable, or absolutely s**t ?

I love it! It's very cute! I tried to shade it for you, using the Xp template as a guide.

That looks really good, and I think people would like to use that :thumb:
There could be two styles of it, the cartoony style I posted, and the RTP style, so it could fit in with the RTP.

As you can see, the Goblin one, could actually fit in with the RTP and be used as an actual goblin template, so new variations of races could be made !

It seems very amorphous in places, as if he's made of dough... Of course, once it's been sprited on I assume that'll be less of a problem? His feet seem very shuffly and he's very expressive with his arms, too. : P

Why don't you try spriting on him or test him out ingame ? :wink: then you'll see that it actually performs better ingame. And as punched has said, it really is easy to sprite on.

Soon there might be a Goblin Revolution xD? weird name. But still there might.

You can't revolve something that can't be spun.

That is, Breeze was around long enough and was used so rarely as to justify the use of the word "revolution" to describe its revival. This is too new for a revolution -- maybe if the template goes to hell and someone wants it back, then we'll see it.

You know Miek's got a point there, Revolutions just revive something, especially here on the forums, but hopefully this template will be used by people, I don't mind if it doesn't, but the idea of it being used is something nice to dream about, and I think Pink Wabbits RTP version will get people using it :thumb:

I spent a few hours shading the template. I did some progress on the first row of walking (First 4 frames) and finished that:
