Genre? What Genre? (Part I)

What I want to know is what is the most popular game genre here on .org. We all have our favorite games and we all have our favorite genres. What's yours?

Personally I prefer RPGs and Strategy games. I have always loved the complex stories of RPGs mostly because of my long love of books. Strategy games to me are a way to let loose and show your intelect. In a strategy game, it is al about managing your resources and outsmarting your oponents. More recently though, I have become taken by shooters, including the odd RPG/Shooter hybrid like Bioshock (more shooter) and Fallout 3 (more rpg).

My favourite genre is definitely RPG, I always enjoy their great storylines, characters and the puzzles some of them have.
Aventure is probably my second choice, lots of fighting and the ocassional puzzle.
I can enjoy shooters as well but it depends on what kind, I like games like Gears of War or Brothers in Arms for instance because there's a tactic element in the fights.

Hmm, Action/Adventure/RPG/Platformer are my favourite genre's of game, I wonder what a game would be like with all those elements implemented, it'd be called;

Obviously RPG is going to be the number one choice, this is a forum for creating RPG's after all, so it'll be a bit biased in that regard. I like strategy games a lot, because they require some thought, and thinking is a key element in the game. Sims are really fun too because they allow almost limitless freedom. And admit it, you've always wanted to destroy a city filled with millions of unsuspecting little people, haven't you! (SimCity 4 is without a doubt one of the best sims of all time.)

well, probably my favorite franchise ever is katamari. that doesn't even have a genre.. i suppose i have the most fun with racing games, and western rpgs.
