Hi

I am not sure I should post this here but here i go.

Ok, like many amateur maker I lack drawing and design skills.
To resolve this problem, I decided to turn myself to ripping.

I have chosen the gba summon night series to work on, but the problem is that the third title Summon Night - Craft Sword Monogatari Hajimari no Ishi doesn't seem to have been released outside of Japan, and it looks like the best one actually

To get myself a decent base of resources, I really need to get in deep of each game, how can i do that? What I'm looking for, I'm not even sure, anyway to get my hands on this game in english, in french, in spanish may it be poor.

I think the first 2 or 3 are out in English, not sure though. If youre looking for Summon Knight rips, I think Skie Fortress uses some in her games, but then again im not sure. You might want to look around resource analysis, as im still unsure exactly what you want.

Hope that helps.

The in-battle sprites for SN:SS2 are better, anyway.

EVERYONE should have the following sites saved. Even non-spriters. D=<
http://www.spriters-resource.com/
http://sdb.drshnaps.com/

Both have Summon Night rips. If you want to start ripping yourself, you're going to need some materials, namely a Visual Boy Advance emulator (google it), and a ROM of the game you want (Google it, it's generally illegal to request this kind of thing on most forums. The search critera isn't exactly taxing either).

That should be enough for you to play the game, take screencaps, and get the delicious spritage. However, if you want to be edgy and technical, you'll want to look up AnimGet, and either Tile Molester, or UNlz_GBA.

Are those tool compatible with GBA material?

Well at first a guess i wanted a way to get in depth of each titles to get the most resources out of them but i guess i can do that with a walktrough, right? And then also, since I'm just starting ripping i wanted some tips on how to but I pretty have it figured out already, so its not a big problem. Even if I'm an amateur I'm really looking to get the job well done. I heard that patches existed for japanese game to install on your console, is it true?

Edit: Maybe  you"re right, maybe I should go to resource analysis.

AnimGet Tile molester and UNlz_GBA all work with the GBA ROM or the VBA emulator.

AnimGet will take rapid screenshots of whatever window you're focused on, and will check to see if the image has changed. If it has, it'll store it in a specified location. It'll get most frames of animation without too much effort, but you may need to tinker with the running speed of VBA to ensure no frames are skipped. AnimGet will wok with any program, so you can rip from other emulators, or even videos.

Tile Molestor and UNlz_GBA both look at the ingame tiles of a ROM and let you look through them, arrange them into coherent images, and save to a location. They both do the same task, but they work better on different ROMs. It's hard to explain, but those sprite resource links I posted have tutorials on them both; and you should be able to find things out simply by experimenting. =D
