Futuristic Tileset [WIP]

Hello, ive started working on a kind of futuristic tileset but im not quite sure if its ok or not at the moment so i would like some criticism to help me out so any comments are welcome:

Here is the actual tileset (still need to work on a few areas, the shading for example >.<):


I have done 3 seperate autotiles to fit in with the tileset:

1. The Basic Floor:


2. A Catwalk Type Thing (The outgoing corners need to be fixed):


3. The Black Part That Goes With The Walls:


Also i have got an animated door:


And an animated computer start-up:


And here is a Screenshot of it all put together at the moment:


Unfortunately these tiles do not fit very well with rtp, but they do fit alright with Eriol Clowphengire's Koemushi template.
These tiles are free to use as long as credit is given. :thumb:

You're going to need to explain what each piece is because right now the top line looks like it would be an impassible floor tile due to its complexity making it look like they are all jutting out of the ground.

The walls on the tile set obviously don't fit as well as in the screen shot but in the screen shot the tiling is okay, my only concern is that there is your dark-blue colour and your faded yellow, maybe something else might help bring the details out a little more, maybe a paler blue colour?
 
there is a paler blue color in there but yea i guess it doesnt show that much :/
and yea ill edit the post to tell what they are.
im just wondering where to add the pale blue though
 
You can even convert one of your tiles into an autotile as well! And it seems that your tileset appears to be for a space station of some sort... Maybe the dark blue one might be shadows perhaps?
 
okay ive got an update on the tileset, ive made the floor and the top black parts into an autotile, ive also added 3 doors that i have yet to animate, and ive saved the screenie as .png :wink: , i will make the catwalk thingys into an autotile eventually and i kinda need suggestions for stuff to add to the tileset, e.g. boxes, etc.


any comments are welcome :thumb:

thanks, and ive got the animated door done which works quite well :thumb:

Also, do you have any suggestions for what to add next? i may add some bedroom objects but im not sure at the moment :huh:
 
does it fit to the Koemushi peeps? or even to the RTP peeps?

EDIT: What do you plan to do out of that tileset?

A high-end mining facility? A lab? or a Space Station?

That way, I can determine what you may put in...
 
well it fits quite well with the koemushi people but the i tried it with arshes and he was too fat to fit through the door :huh:
 
Read the latest post on my template + workshop thread.

Say, if the game you're working on revolves in a space station, I suggest you to make computers, beds, tables, cabinets, and even hey... firearms!
 
Ive updated the first post with all i have done so far if you wanna take a look, the desk needs its top left corner fixing and i will get onto that. :thumb:
 
I like how the catwalk-thingy in the middle of the screenshot has stuff underneath it, adds depth (literal and metaphorical) to the map. also, I notice with the regular floor, some corners do have a yellow cover thing, while other don't. I understand how not having covers on some adds detail, but the corners that do have covers look a little off because of it.
