where is the file (script) that decides what changes there are to be at the front, in the middle etc (see class)?

In game party, search for this:-

position = $data_classes[actor.class_id].position

if i understand well, the position only affects the hit occurances on a certain character?
i thought it would also affect the damages received (and given)

As far as i know it doesn't affect damage rating, but it does put up the priority of being attacked more.
