Does anyone know where I can get a frre domain (just for the first year)? I'm low on cash right now, but I'd like to get a domain for my soon-to-be-running site.

I use these ones.

Don't use .tk, they give ads and in my experience, spyware.

Don't use cjb.net, as they give you viruses. (strangely named "cjb1, cjb2, cjb3").

On a side note, I've seen them as cheap as ?1.99/year, that's for .co.uk, .me.uk, stuff like that.

Yeah, paid domains don't cost much at all and especially if you get a hosting package which some are 6 or 7 bucks a month, the domain comes free.

I got my domain from godaddy for 1.99 with a hosting plan that was like $3 a month.

You can get 50 GB of space and a domain for as low as $5 a month and $5-8 for the domain yearly. It surely ain't a real problem, unless you have 0% income.

Infact it can be even lower check this site out. 300GB of space, and many other good features. With a 2 year commitment, it's only 4.95 a month from that host.

They all seem good, there are some things out there that give you domain names (even .com) for free if you make so many posts on a forum.

4.95 a month is rather expensive for me. that works out to almost $60 a year

If you can afford it, then I'd say go for it. 60 dollars isn't that much. But it's all within peoples budgets. Surely, 5 dollars a month for hosting and a domain isn't that bad?

Precise amount a year: $59.40. Save some birthday money, ask your parents, do chores, or get a job. Those are all plausible ways to get some spending money.

I have to get around $200 to get me a silver chain so if I can do it so can you.
