FoxtrotZulu's RPG Maker XP Realtime Battle System Beta
Note: I realise that this may be in the wrong forum but there is no RPG Maker releases section apart from the scripts section and I think this counts as a project. If you disagree, please do not lock the thread, instead please move it to the appropriate place. Thank you.

2 - Easiest Way of using the System

4 - Project Information
1. System
The system uses common events. Enemies call on them upon event touch, triggering a sound effect, animation and damage to the player. This also triggers a variable named 'Battle Delay' to increase by one, which causes the enemy to be unable to attack until it is attacked by the player using the 'C' button (conditional branch is used to determine whether the 'C' buttom is being pushed). After attacking, a Battle Delay timer appears and counts down from 5. When it is at 1 or lower, you can attack again or you can attack anyway if you've been counter-attacked. If you would like to modify the file please open up the database in the RPG Maker XP Project File and check the Common Events tab. I will further explain them.
2. Easiest Way of using the System
This way is recommended for those who are less experienced with RPG Maker XP. Simply open up my project and edit the database and maps as they are, keeping the Common Events, variables and switches all in place. It's also recommended to keep a copy of each player.
3. Difficulties
This system is very difficult to use. It is still a prototype and I have not implemented any scripts or scripted the project at all. A Common Event, switch and variable will have to be created for each enemy that you create, so in theory, I recommend using this for bosses and the original battle system for other enemies. If you plan on doing this then simply copy and paste one of my pre-made enemies and change it's graphics.
4. Project Information
I made this project by myself, it took me one and a half hours to get the enemy to attack me and get me to be able to attack them back. It then took me until a total time of three and a half hours to create a condtional timer of which would allow the player to attack the enemy without taking damage. However, to make your enemies more challenging I recommend increasing their speed which will make the task of getting away from the monster to let your Battle Delay timer deplete harder.
