Good morning, community of RMXP.org. I have a big one for you today.
Deletion of the Recruitment and Classifieds subforum.
Yes, you read that right. Within the next couple of weeks, the Recruitment and Classifieds board will no longer be a part of RMXP.org.
Shortly it will be archived as a read-only board, and after some time in that it will be archived as a hidden board only visible by the staff. The board is too large with too much history to simply be deleted, but once the board becomes hidden from regular users, the staff has no obligation to dig through it for you. In other words, this is your warning. If you have anything within the Recruitment and Classifieds subforum that you want to keep, now would be the time to back it up. We will not be responsible for any lost posts or topics.
We have a number of reasons, the largest of which are as followed:
A lot of people will be upset with this decision. Even more (hopefully) will be happy with it. We are well aware that the recruitment forum has a little "mini-community" of its own (who will likely not even see this announcement). It is our goal to force this mini-community to expand and see what else RMXP.org has to offer. Perhaps, along the way, they can grow up a little.
In other news...
Progress on the RMXP.org resources website is going nicely. This morning, in fact, I have released a mini-website that will give you a preview of whats to come. Spriters and pixel artists will be happy to make use of this resource. The previous Templates for Spriting topic listing has been replaced with a Spriting Templates website.
For more details, look at the new thread here.
That was a big one. Have fun, boys and girls.

We have a number of reasons, the largest of which are as followed:
- The subforum, in its current state, represents the kind of game-making that we do not want to encourage. In other words, the "make my game for me" mentality has become far too prevalent.
- A good number of members used the recruitment forum as an excuse to have a second project topic; if you want someone to help in your project, simply say so in your one project topic.
- The forum serves no purpose. Very few topics in it actually get anywhere.
- Incredibly few topics in that forum meet the criteria set out in Jeff's rules. Moderators spend far too much time telling people to clean up their topics. Rule-breaking topics should be in the minority, not be the norm.
- We don't like the image that the subforum gives to the RMXP.org community. The recruitment forum consistently shows members that lack creativity and motivation. This isn't what RMXP.org is about. Make some games, people! Don't ask others to make them for you!
