Plot:
During a great festival in the city of Hraal, the mighty battleship Leviathan of the so-called Terror Bandits lead by Captain Maynard, brought great destruction to the unaware city. Commander Sharp and his crew searched the ruins for the Captain for a chest containing a map, supposed to lead to the ancient artifact: The Blood Relic. Sharp finds the chest, but it is destroyed by a young boy before he can reach it. This boy is called Ayric Tydestorm, and he is now captured so that the bandits may use him as a guide to the map.
After ten years imprisoned at the ship, Commander Sharp releases Ayric and helps him flee.

What Ayric doesn't know is that Sharp is going to use him to reach the Blood Relic himself to become the mightiest being of the universe. However, the relic is cursed, and when it comes to Commander Sharp's possesion, Sharp is transformed to a hideous monster. When he is defeated late in the game by Ayric and his companions, the Blood Relic starts speaking. It tells them that he was filling itself with souls so that he could become strong enough to become its true self. Commander Sharp's death resulted in that the relic finally could evolve into the Blood God. At this point in the game you also get to know that all the monsters in the world are actually humans which have aquired the monster form because of the relic.
Brief Backstory about the plot:
A World Entwined was an idea I came up with for about two years ago. You follow the young Trinity Corp. Soldier Lance who early discovers that his boss is up to no good. Before he's able to do anything about it, Lance literally blows away when he defeats one of Pravus' many monstrous creations.

Lance Chron is a Soldier for Trinity Corp. and discovers that his boss Pravus is up to no good, when Lance is trying to find a secret entrance to the HQ of Trinity Corp. Zoe Wildbrook who has been like Lance's sister, since while his mother found her on the streets, joins him in his search for information about Lance's unknown father.
Unfortunately, the hidden entrance led to the sewers instead of inside the building. While searching for a way out, they enter a strange room. They are surrounded by walls and floor looking like the inside of some kind of creature. When going deeper inside of this creation, they find Pravus, speaking about an awakening.
Pravus says that he can't tell them what he is up to, and teleports outside and lets a monstrosity attack them. After the battle, it blows up and Lance and Zoe is seperated.
Lance find himself on a beach, and can't believe that he is still alive. Nearby, he find Zoe unconscious. After bringing the right ingredients for a healing elixir, Zoe has lost her memories. Lance and Zoe also meet Rock Marxson, Trinity Corp's finest engineer, who in total secrecy has sabotaged Trinity Corps through a rebellion group called FRONTIERS.

Character Deaths:
Yes, many of the characters die in-game. first it is Phantasma who is actually dead, but who is "rewarded" death after she's done enough good deeds. Then There's Zoe, who dies of a disease which entered her body in the explosion (this is the same disease that made her lose her memories).
Finally, after the final battle, all characters that remains die of exhaustion. The game ends with a lots of tears when Lance, Rock, Yaiba and Janet reunite with their dead friends Phantasma and Zoe in the endless garden (eq. to heaven). Here you also see phantasma for the first time without her mask, and she's gorgeous! In the living world, statues are raised for the heroes who saved the world.
