Fix camera / scrollMap

Hiya,

can anyone tell me how I can fix the camera, i.e. stop the map from scrolling when the character moves.

In particular my mapsize is 2screens, so I want to have the camera fixed and when the player reaches the end of the first half of the map, I plan to use the scrollMap event to scroll the map to the second half. Clearly, the map should be fixed then again..

Any ideas?
 
When the player steps on the tile right before one that would start scrolling, have the player's graphic opacity turn to zero, then turn on an event on that map via switches, and move the event to where the player was (You may have to use the X and Y trick), and then move that event off the screen. If you want the player to be able to move the character, just set up a parallel process that has four conditional branches, each for the four directions. Under the branches, move the event-ed character.

May I ask why you want to manually pan the screen?
