Avatar: Element Battle

Avatar: The Last Airbender: is copy righted to Nickeloden inc.

The game source and name are copy righted to me under GPL License.

Well, this is my very first game that I made, ive read alot of tutorials but not the mapping ones. I'm serious about this project just that I haven't thought out the story line. The characters remain the same. I'm thinking of keeping the original story line but I might change it a bit.I'm trying to find a tutorial on how to make the battle out side instead of having it in a battle scene It would look awesome with the bending battles.

If you would like to help me, please add me to msn: vance.k@hotmail.com (Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section)

Whats is Avatar? :
Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place in a fantasy world, home to humans, fantastic animals, and supernatural spirits. Human civilization is divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Air Nomads, and the Fire Nation. Each nation has its own natural element, on which it bases its society. The Water Tribes base their society on water, the Earth Kingdom on earth, the Air Nomads on air, and the Fire Nation on fire. Within each nation exists an order called "Benders", who have the ability to manipulate the element of their nation. The show's creators assigned each Bending art its own style of martial arts; each Bending art inherited the advantages and weaknesses of the martial arts it was assigned. The Bending types are Waterbending, Earthbending, Firebending, and Airbending.

In the show, each generation yields one person who is capable of Bending all four elements; this being is referred as the Avatar, the spirit of the planet manifested in human form. When an Avatar dies, they are reincarnated into the next nation in the Avatar Cycle. The Avatar Cycle parallels the seasons: winter for The Water Tribes, spring for the Earth Kingdom, summer for the Fire Nation, and autumn for the Air Nomads. In the show, legend holds the Avatar must master each bending art in order, starting with their native element; this can sometimes be compromised when the situation requires it, as Aang demonstrates in the show. For the Avatar, learning to bend the element opposite their native element can be extremely difficult; this is because opposing Bending arts are based on opposing fighting styles and disciplines. In the show, Firebending and Waterbending are opposites, as are Earthbending and Airbending.

The Avatar possesses a unique power called the Avatar State. It empowers the Avatar with the knowledge and abilities of all past Avatars, and is used as a defense mechanism. When an Avatar enters the Avatar state, their eyes and tattoos begin to glow. If an Avatar is killed in the Avatar State, the reincarnation cycle will be broken, and the Avatar cycle will end.

Through the ages, countless incarnations of Avatar have served to keep the four nations in harmony, and maintain world order. The Avatar serves as the bridge between the physical world and the Spirit World, allowing him or her to solve problems that normal benders cannot.

Plot:
A century prior to the series' opening, when Aang was 12 years old, he was frozen into a state of suspended animation for 100 years. After being awoken by two children from the Southern Water Tribe, he finds the world at war with the Fire Nation. As the Avatar, he sets out to master the elements and ultimately defeat the Fire Lord and end the war.

Characters: (Main show characters and maybe in my game)
Avatar: He is the current incarnation of the Avatar, the spirit of the planet in human form. As the Avatar, Aang must bring peace to the world and bring balance to the four Nations. Being a reluctant hero, he admits his preference for adventure over saving the world, and making friends over fighting the Fire Nation. Aang's energetic nature and childish naïvete render him oblivious to the world around him, as well as the feelings of others. Over the course of the series, though, Aang gradually matures into his role as the Avatar. The blue arrow on his head, hands and feet are to show he has mastered Airbending. Aang is the youngest Airbender to do so.

Katara: 14-year-old Waterbender of the Southern Water Tribe. Due to Fire Nation raids, she is the only remaining Waterbender in the South Pole. In the opening of the show, Katara discovers and frees Aang from the iceberg he was trapped in one hundred years ago. With her older brother Sokka, she accompanies Aang on his quest to defeat the Fire Lord, and bring peace to the world. Katara is kind, responsible, and particularly motherly; she developed this personality after her mother was killed in a Fire Nation attack. Though an apt leader, she can be overbearing and stubborn.[28] In spite of her kind nature, she also has a temper. When her idealism and impressive waterbending skills are combined with this temper, she can be quite destructive.

Soka: is a 15-year-old warrior of the Southern Water Tribe. With his sister Katara, he accompanies Aang on his quest to defeat the Fire Lord. The joker of the group, Sokka describes himself as "meat-loving" and "sarcastic". Unlike his companions, Sokka cannot bend an element, but the series frequently grants him opportunities to use his true gifts: ingenuity and use of weapons. He takes great pride in his mental and physical strength, though it is often overshadowed by others' ability to bend. He is extremely clever, relying on science where the mystical and martial arts elude him. His immature manner often causes others to underestimate his intellect.

Even if this was in the right place, you still need to clean it up with some screenshots and char. info. Not everyone has seen this show! You should either do what Sophist said or report this for a move. Its up to you.

Also:

I'm serious about this project and I haven't thought out the story line.

You realize that this is a GIANT contradiction (or a small typo, )right?

Thanks ABS for the Battle System.
 ABS didn't make the battle system, Mr. Mo made it, ABS stands for Action Battle System.
The RTP also doesn't go with breeze tilesets, breeze stuff don't have as much detail as the RTP. There still is detail just not as much.

Just thought I'd let you know, good luck with the project Fan games are usually hard to make.

Oh and why do you choose from Fire, Water, Earth and Wind? Aren't you supposed to play as 'The Avatar'?

Yes, but the character doesn't know he's the Avatar. When you choose your nation, its like a dream for him. He really has no idea that he's the Avatar.

What if you join the 'Fire Nation', what happens then?

Hmmm, being a fan of Avatar: tlab, I find this leaving me with a lot to desire. I highly suggest you research the background on the Avatar world a little more. If this story is centered on Aang and his adventures featured on the show, I would recomment doing one of the following:

1) Do away with the "Pick your nation" scheme you got going. If this story is about Aang, he an airbender, and you shouldn't mess with that. From what I've skimmed through your main post, I can't tell if you play as Aang or some other Avatar.

2) Go to Avatarspirit.net and read episode transcripts and follow them. If this game is indeed about Aang and co, it needs to resemble the show, like really well. So far, it really doesn't. I really would suggest doing away with breeze unless your going to sprite everything.

3) DOn't mix RTP with Breeze. Stick with one; it really clashes.

Good Luck

JD
