Final Fantasy Versus XIII (New Gameplay Trailer)

New Gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy Versus XIII. I have more hope about this than XIII-2... ugh... but that ain't saying much. That being said, this looks very grounded and closer to life than the stuff they've churned out recently, a similar style to Final Fantasy VII I'd say in terms of artstyle. Graphically looks incredible, thank you Crystal Tools, the gameplay looks interesting and fun, like Kingdom Hearts without the cartoons. On the plus side this game has brought us back a world map, but instead of it being a representation of the world it's an actual 1:1 world map and is HUGE. This should be interesting. More interesting than... ugh.

Square Enix has just been anal about that sort of thing lately. They've even been enforcing their copyright on the gameplay footage itself, meaning that no one can record themselves playing FF13 and upload it to Youtube. Considering the Youtube Let's Play community, this is a net positive from my perspective, but they're still being cocks to strangers for no reason I can determine.

For those who saw it, how is world map travel handled? Do you have personal access to fast transportation, or is it densely packed? Is there a lot to look at or do along the way, or do you hold forward with an elastic and go make yourself some tea? I'm imagining something similar to FF12's world map, which is pretty alright. I liked FF12 a bunch, even if it doesn't seem like many other people felt the same.

I Liked a lot about FF12, I just hated the battle system. Final Fantasy as of late seems to have a major problem of getting everything done very well except usually one major flaw, like a long long long long long long tunnel.

My guess as to why they block Let's Play of Final Fantasy XIII is because they don't want people to realise the tunnel. You have to pay £40/€50/$60 for that grand honour.
