Final boss

How do I make one of the enemies a final boss(or just a boss)?  I want to make enemy (25) lich the final boss and I can't figure out how to format him to bossness.

You should give the boss tons of HP and high defense so the battle would last longer. His attack should be strong but not strong enough to kill you immediately. You could also try creating a pattern of boss skills using battle events so that the player needs to develop some kind of tactic in order to defeat him. You can use dialog to prevent the battle from being boring.

You don't necessarily need high HP and defense for a final boss. Just create some unique skills/fighting techniques and have some great music and dialogue to make it one last memorable fight.

Yes, dialogue is very important in final boss battles. You could also divide the battle into more than one part. Several games, like Zelda, even though it's not technically an RPG, divide boss battles into two or more parts.

Enchanted Arms does that also.

Oh, and to increase the length of a boss battle, add in status inflictions. And a load of skills for the Boss, including a healing one. Oh and one last thing ( :P ) Oh and don't just put the boss on its own. Have some mini enemies to heal and just to pick on you with poison status' and the like. It makes it interesting. And with this you can also pop in a summon skill for the main boss.

Just a few points.

How do you make it so that you can get your character to battle the boss that you make.

magnetrude this is too simple you should really read the HELPS build in the Program it just going to get harder for you if you don't.
