Hey guys.
Right now, I'm looking for a File saving system very much like those found in the Resident Evil Series.
For those of you who've never played the series. (all 7 of you :wink
Below you will find a description of how the system works.
The player walks into a room and sees a file laying on a table (or a bookshelf. Pretty much anywhere and everywhere). The player walks up to the file and the file's contents are displayed on screen (sometimes images as well). After the player reviews the documents, the contents are then stored to a File menu (found in the main menu) and can be accessed any time.
Also, I would like to note that usually, each file has multiple pages. Meaning, that I can see a page of text and an indicator on the bottom says something like Page 1 of 89 or something to that effect.
I'm going to have at least a hundred files in my game (figured I'd let you know so that it can support a quite a bit of files).
Also, in the File Submenu, I would like it to be just a page full of question marks. Whenever a file is found, certain questionmarks on the page disappear. This way, I can have like 3 files scattered around the world and when they are found, the can be all nice and comfy together.
Ok, so I hope this isn't too complicated.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope to hear from someone soon.
