Family Guy!

Family guy is my most favourite show EVER! It's so funny when they have interventions! My favourite epsiode is the one where Brian is on Cocaine...

It's incredibly funny, but it is (At least I can recognize) a very tired sort of funny. Thankfully, the jokes are so outlandish that they actually make me laugh out loud, otherwise I would probably hate this show for being -below- low brow.

But that's also its charm.

Why make a poll if you're going to threaten those who disagree with you with eternal damnation? I find the show only sporadically funny, and I think the writing is incredibly lazy. I'm more of a South Park kinda guy.

South Park is the same sort of writing style. It's all about shock tactics...it's just Family guy uses the 'that reminds me of X' a lot more than any other show of it's kind.

If it's offensive, someone will laugh.

Southpark's humor is a too tasteless (at least from the 2 minutes I've seen of the show), while Family Guy doesn't seem that way. It's a little bit more approachable imo. Hence one show being on cable and one being on (is it still on?) primetime.

Don't you know the writers of Family Guy are Giant Mantitis, who throw balls into a machine and give Family Guy it's random "Like that time I was..." humor.

Seriously, I love Family Guy and South Park. Who could resist a stupid fat guy ( I mean look at Homer Simpson lawl), but at the same time little kids with potty mouths also seems highly interesting.

Family Guy and South Park are 2 of my favorite shows.

I love that kind of humor. It never gets old to me. South Park actually teaches you things if you pay attention.

Family guy was great, but I think it's going downhill.

Southpark I just don't find funny, period. Not because of the tastelessness, just when watch, I find myself not laughing. But this isn't a Southpark topic, so... we should all stick to talking about Family Guy.

I still laugh from time to time, but the over hype it has gotten pises me off somewhat. Don't get me wrong, I love Family Guy, but I hate it when something charming and good becomes the talk on everyones mind... it kinda' ruins it for me a bit.

South Park may have similar sick humor, but calling it the same as Family Guy doesn't really work. Most episodes have a distinct political/social point they want to make in the midst of all the cursing/poop jokes/gore etc. I don't always agree with the viewpoint, but it's usually interesting to watch.

Family Guy on the other hand is really just a half hour of pop culture references. And sometimes it is funny. I just usually can't make it through a whole episode without changing the channel.

I used to like Family Guy, but not anymore. I liked them when they played the first episodes on FOX, yet when I watch the newer ones....it's like they aren't even trying anymore. Even Stewie is losing his charm.


On a side note, I love South Park. It seems to capture more current events then Family Guy, and some of the jokes are geniunly funny. Plus, most of the characters aren't even that bad (Only characters I hate are Wendy and Pip). On the negative side, sometimes the humor is simply tasteless and bland.



In the end, Futurama is much more interesting. :p

I don't like family guy at all. I'm a fan of America's Dad or whatever it's called though. Seen a few episodes of that the other week.

It's just funny how the cast of family guy is so similar to that of the simpsons. Dumb dad, down to earth mum, dumbass son, fairly intelligent daughter. Oh ... wait ... they added a baby that is fluent in english! Which is a complete contrast to that of maggie, who never says a word.

No. I can't really say I watch it particularily often; it's just not a Nix show.

It's funny at points, but there are times when the jokes are unbelievably crude, or where the writers extend a scene for WAY too long just to take up air time.

If you had a third option, "Meh: it's OK", I'd probably have picked that one.

Nix, I agree with your point about the taking up air time. I remember being forced by a friend to watch this clip when Bin Laden gives a message to the American people. He just went on ... and on ... and on ... and on ... and ON! It's almost as annoying as the "and then" scene of dude where's my car.

Anyway the best episodes are the ones where Peter fights the giant chicken,
