Events passing over other events

I have this problem with some events: im making a racing part in my car and part way through the race your car breaks down so i layed events along the road where i wanted your car to break down but the oppents car stops where the events are. so i was wonder is there any way to make the opponents car to pass over the over events with them accivating it.

You can set the obstacles to "Through" status and still be able to check for a collision with the player's car without the other cars getting hung up on those squares.

If all the events are in one line though, it might just be easier to check if the player reaches a certain X (or Y) location, so you know he's passing that row, and then trigger the wreck.  That way, if you want to change what happens, you only have to change the parallel process that's looking for the player to reach that point, rather than every event on the track.
