Event Moving

Hi, I was creating my game and I want to make an event where two characters( orphans) are being told by a guard to beat it and leave, so I'm able to make them walk away. the problem is I want them to stay at their new location once they move there, I've tried switches but it isn't working. whenever I enter a house and come back out the are in front of the guard again. telling me the information I want them to tell me while they should be further up on the map. I don't want to have the characters walk from the final spot to infront of the guard because I want my character walking in on this event. Hopefully someone can help. My question really is

How do I make an event move on the map and make him stay there even when I change maps.
 
Switches will do the job for you, but you need to use them the right way.

Specifically, you need to have one more page on those NPC events that's activated once they've moved to their new location, which is presumably when the switch will be turned on.

That page will have no graphics at all.

Now create a couple of events at the locations that you want those characters to wind up in. Make page 1 blank, and then have page 2 have whatever stuff you want the orphans to do once the scene is over, including the graphics for the orphans-- and have the condition for that page be the switch being on.

Basically, there's a conceptual leap to make here-- the Event is not the NPC. The Event is how you depict the NPC, and that NPC can be depicted with multiple events. And if you want that NPC to appear in more than one place, that's how you have to do it.
 
I guess I'm not so bad because I created an even at the end place set it with no graphics and to through for the first page, then second page I have my stuff the orphan says and whatnot. I created an event where the orphan starts on page one I have the graphic and on page to I have it so that when the switch is on it has no graphics and set this page 2 to through because I have an npc walking through their initial place a little later in the quest, so my event is not either npc it's on a seperate square since I want it touch activated when my player gets onto the bridge and starts seeing them. this event makes the initial page 1 event with graphics move to the other page 1 no graphic through events and they simply walk over the npc's final positions and once they are on top the switch activates which does the job I want. I was looking if there was a simpler way to do it because at first it was very head bashing. also is there a way to run the game i'm making in fullscreen?
 
Point the first: No, there really isn't a simpler way to do that unless you have a script for the purpose.

Point the second: Do you mean have the game automatically run in fullscreen? (It'll always be able to, just hit alt+Enter)

If you want it to default to fullscreen, you'll need a script for that. There is one on these boards, IIRC-- search for "game start full screen" in the script request section to locate it.
 
Well XP had the option to swap events between their original locations... The first one might be the event you already configured and the second one should be a hidden one on the map that may be transferred to the last location once a switch is activated... This will work if it's done on the same map.
