Enough use of items makes an actor learn a skill

eg, use 10 fire bombs and you learn firebomb...

yes. make a common event, started with selected item. in the event add 1 to a variable. if variable is greater or equal to ten - actor learns a skill.

that much ive figured out, but then each time you use the item from the menu, the menu screen closes, and i could add call menu to the comment event that the item is attached to.. but... its soo not neat.. i was hoping foir a better way to do that

do what? add an animation? make it in that common event. you know haw to play animations on map, don't you?
