Embed a rmvx / rmxp game into a website

oh....suckage  and where would i get a windows emulator
The only way to embed anything into a website is by using shockwave or flash. Since neither of these can support RMXP you are stuck to doing it the hard way of posting pictures and uploading the game to your server or any other host. Can I ask you a question? Why in the known universe would you want to embed rmxp into websites anyway? As a web programmer and veteran rpgmaker, I see doing it the right way is often the best way.

Which is a bad thing because..?
Wow if that doesn't go without saying... :D

But no, this isn't possible in any conventional way that a layperson would be able to do.  I can see how it might be done with a reimplementation of the RGSS api in Java and some obvious innovations like streaming data.  A windows emulator would be a very, very bad choice even if it were theoretically possible so that's down the wrong path altogether.

You won't find anyone here, I don't wager, that is willing to even contemplate the former option either. :)  If you want to make a simple online game your best bet is Flash, it's portable and very easy to work on compared to more complex platforms.  The more bitmaps, e.g. RMXP graphics you add the larger a flash game gets though.

Oh financially, its lovely. But as a game its a horrific thing that hinders any possible love you could have of the end result. For example, you could strive hard and make the next 'Kid A' and be proud of your work....or release Simple Plan's album, rake it in and hate what you did.

Runescape is only cool because it was essentially developed by a couple guys in a basement on a Java platform.  Those guys had no design talent whatsoever and every other game they made were classic board game clones; I doubt runescape's success had much to do with anything except that it was free and would run on nearly everything, something they kind of broke with the 3d version, which might actually be even more heinous visually than the "classic" version.
